I know this bag is in rough shape, but I have been wanting a little drawstring bag! It is a Drawstring Sac - Small and it is truly a little 7.5 inch high bucket! Instead of a creed, it has a puffy looking cartouch with the reg # on a tab. View attachment 4853125View attachment 4853126

Nice find. You can see the beauty even before it gets cleaned. Where did you find it?

Whenever I can find vintage catalogs for less than $15, I pick them up. Someone is selling the Fall 1990 catalog for something crazy like $70 or $80!!
Does the catalog with the terrier on it feature the Coach scarf with the Jack Russell Terrier print? Someone gave me a neckerchief with the Jack Russells on it a long time ago but I never saw images of it when it was sold. What a neat collection of ephemera.

Unfortunately no. But if I ever see any info on a Jack Russel print, will let you know.
I enjoy the catalogs as much as the bags I think. I always have my eye out for them if they are vintage and less than $15. My fantasy is to go to flea market and find a box of them.

I would say that about bags...go to the flea market and find a box of them....*sigh*

Thanks. It's so cool to be able to look back at the old catalogs. A nice little archive. Amazing that someone kept them so nice.

There are a few venders at my local flea market I like to check out. One usually has this assortment of vintage leather and siggie bags in rough shape. I like to go and just check them out. It is good for comps. Never know, she may a HG. Then there is this guy who is completely hit or miss. He often has a lot of rough looking black bags. Again, good for comps. And a woman that has a nice assortment of clean bags. I may go Saturday.

The catalogs are fun.

I love the catalogs! lol I need to pay attention though, I almost bought one I already had! The lot was under $50 shipped. I can't believe some of the crazy prices online though.

Yep, some prices are nuts! $70-plus for just one catalog? 12 or 15 years ago you could usually find them for around $10 each. They're also a lot cheaper to ship than handbags especially if you can use Media Mail. Some of the newer ones are even duplicates of the same catalog pages from the same time period but with a different cover. You have to be really careful about buying the ones that might be just a few months newer or older than one you already have. If you go back to the early 1980s, they may have only made one catalog per year, the 1981 and 1982 books are almost identical, although the only place I've seen them is on the thumb drives and DVDs that sometimes turn up.

When someone charges more for a vintage catalog than many of the prices of the bags inside it, that's just plain greedy. We've seen enough shameless greed in these last few years to last a dozen lifetimes. :annoyed:
