dgphoto, your Savers is incredible! Are you near a major city?

I'm in Providence, RI. I thrift full time so it looks like I'm lucky but I really work at it. Some days I walk away with nothing!

I have your brown one in black, and I paid waaay more than $2.99. Congrats on all your finds! You're on fire! (Would you mind swinging by my local Savers and see what you can find for me? :graucho:)

I would LOVE to come and thrift for you!! Lol! What city are you in?

I've been thrifting since I was in utero, literally! I hit four or five stores a day twice a week when I can. Depends on how I feel. I have lupus so some days are good and some are bad. [emoji4]

Wow!!! I love this bag!! What's the style name; do you know off hand?

This is a Kristin woven round satchel in saddle (I think, not positive of the color) there were a number of colors made for fp, and when they ended the Kristin line they put out a few different colors mff and this was one of them. I don't know the style # off hand unfortunately.

I'm in the Washington, DC suburbs. I have three regular stores that I go to 2-3 times a week. I go only on the discount days I'm trying to slow down, because I think I may have a problem. I find myself navigating the area and planning my routes based upon the locations of the thrift stores. Last week, I bought a St. John dress that is not my size--just because it was $12.

My mom dealt with Lupus (DLE) for years and there were some really bad days. After her menopause, it mysteriously went into remission. It was a miracle, because there were periods of time when she couldn't leave her bedroom. So, I'm definitely sending happy thoughts your way.

Oh dear, StarBrown, I bet could have a great Garage Sale with those bargains. DC must be heaven for Thrifting, with all the "beautiful people" I love watching from the street cafe when visiting. I have to bring my best clothes!

$38 shipped! It's the mff brown, but I don't notice much of a difference compared to my fp denim one.

The Kristin Woven Leather Round Satchel was style 19312 and was nicknamed the Baby Sage here at tPF. (I think the color was just called Brown).

The Brown along with the Denim and the Scarlet all had serial numbers showing they were made for the FP stores but for some reason Coach sent most of them straight to the outlets. If you search the main Coach forum for Kristin Baby Sage you'll find a ton of posts about the style.

I completely understand the slowing down. I often feel out of control with thrifting because it's so much easier for me to buy than to sit my behind down at the computer and list things for sale. My mom says I'm trying to fill a void of some sort. Truer words were never spoken!!

Sell or consign what you don't need. I'm doing two days of outdoor flea market selling to hopefully get rid of a ton of stuff. I sell vintage on etsy, miscellaneous on eBay and new items on Amazon. Once I accumulate so much, it gets overwhelming and paralyzing. Time to purge!!

Thanks for the well wishes! Lupus sucks and I can't wait for menopause, lol!!!!

Thanks, Hyacinth! I'll add this one to my "someday" wish list!!

The apron that I snatched up for under $20 shipped finally arrived! It was filthy... now it's merely dirty. I'm in a rush but I did a once-over with a damp paper towel to get most of the weird smudges off - you can still see one up by the top that I missed. I think I'll Blackrock it later today. I also included an unboxing pic of the Gigi I got for $40 (still dying about that one!). The Gigi was in amazing shape; no corner wear or strap wear, but the lining's just a bit dirty and requires a wash. I'm going to sell both my Mandy and my large Lily when Gigi is ready to make her debut! (I bought the headboard at an estate sale and will be stripping that "paint" and redoing the fabric / batting as soon as I locate an appropriate fabric, just in case anyone finds it distracting!)

If anyone who has ANY info about this seemingly-random apron could please share the information, I would be grateful. :smile1:

Wow, Gigi is gorgeous!

The apron is interesting! I guess there aren't any tags on it? It would be nice if there was a style number! I found another one on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FANCY-COACH...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Beenburned or Hyacinth may have seen it before.

Since it is unlined, I bet you could wash it if you wanted. When does the average person use a leather apron? Are you planning on doing any welding? :roflmfao:

Whateve - :p The leather is waaayy too thin for welding. Being an impulse shopper and a leather junkie, my heart skipped a beat when I saw the listing. I didn't bother to struggle with formulating a "usefulness" justification! Besides... $15! I thought originally that maybe it was used by Coach craftsmen in a trade show or something... but this one had a champagne cork foil, a toothpick ( Eww! ) and the business card from a restaurant in the pockets, in addition to what I assume was food ( EWWWW! ) all over it. The link to that auction you found was the only other info I could find as well... which tells us almost nothing. It doesn't picture a style number or creed either, which I would again speculate could mean that this wasn't a retail item. I'm anxious to hear everyone's thoughts!

Sorry I couldn't resist! The leather looks beautiful, and you got a great deal too! I would have done the same thing. It might have been made in limited quantities. But it could have been retail. They made a picnic basket once. They've made some odd things for retail. I wouldn't expect it to have a creed, being a clothing item, but I would have thought there would be a fabric tag somewhere with at least the country of origin.

Picnic basket?! Oh, no... I just so happen to need a new picnic basket. As of right now. I'm bound to come across one, eventually!

Holy smokes!!! The apron is an amazing find!!! I picture it on a rugged blacksmith from a PBS period show perhaps with a thick Scottish brogue!! Ahhhh -- but I digress probably not information you were looking for when you asked for ANY...

And the Gigi for $40 (are you still pinching yourself?) is TDF!! Please post pics when she is ready to make her debut! Where did you find these gems?!?!?
