My ~ 1.7 ct Ceylon sapphire set in a HOF mounting, from my previous engagement ring, after my upgrade.

All these sapphires are gorge!

Can someone tell me how yellow sapphires would compare to yellow diamonds in an eternity band?

I think it depends on the grade of color of the yellow diamonds. of course the cost would be much less for the yellow sapphires, & I'm sure you know that sapphires are the 2nd hardest gemstones behind the diamond.

for some reason I feel that most yellow diamonds have a bit of a green tint to the yellow. however, I have a very light yellow diamond from my great grandmother, & it's not greenish at all. I've also seen larger yellow diamonds that are more of a golden color. I've seen the green tint in most of the smaller yellow diamonds that I've run across (which would be set in an eternity band). remember that this is just my impression...perhaps a more educated expert will weigh in.

I found this yellow diamond color chart online: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...l=en&sa=N&rlz=1T4DAUS_enUS312US312&tbs=isch:1

this site has a nice color range of yellow sapphires: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...N&rlz=1T4DAUS_enUS312US312&ndsp=20&tbs=isch:1

"Yellow Sapphires presents in the hues of color from a "Light Buttery Yellow" (light fancy yellow), a "Medium Buttery Yellow" or "Light Canary Yellow" (fancy yellow), a "Rich Buttery Yellow" or "Canary Yellow" (fancy intense yellow), to a "Rich Canary Yellow" (vivid yellow). Yellow Sapphire is known as Pukhraj in India is a silicate of aluminum containing fluorine and hydroxyl, and in Sanskrit Pusparaga, Guru-Ratna, Puspa-Raja, and Vascapati vallabha." http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...N&rlz=1T4DAUS_enUS312US312&ndsp=20&tbs=isch:1

My engagement ring. Rose gold band, .87 carat, pink sapphire from The Natural Sapphire Company. Sadly it's a quarter size too big so I rarely wear it. I will probably change the setting and size at some point in the future.

Why not now resize and wear it every day?
Very beautiful pink sapphire!

I will be making my first sapphire ring with NSC!
I have found the stone and now consulting the details with the setting,
such as the shape of the prongs, etc.:D
