Hi purse lovers

What do you suggest that’s NOT a Birkin or Kelly for an Hermes workhorse bag?
  • Must be used in snow and rain and be scratch resistant
  • Must fit a Macbook Air 13” laptop

If there are bags from other brands of similar craftsmanship and function with minimal logos (no LV neverfulls sry) please feel free to include.

Thanks in advance

I mainly use my Whitebus 40 in Rouge Vif Chèvre. However, I go to work by car and don’t care that it is completely open. It can withstand any weather conditions, though. You can only get them on the preloved market these days and the style surely is not for everyone (meaning great deals on this model) but it remains my most used Hermès bag to this day. Other than that, the Bolide is lovely but you’d have to get a large one to fit your MacBook in it.

The Garden Party 36 is a great work tote, although the top is open to the elements. Do you use a sleeve for travel or a case for your MacBook Pro? If you do, it likely would not fit inside the Victoria. It would be very snug without a case, but the Victoria is a great bag. Mine is about eight years old now and it's been a reliable workhorse.

I'm going to say double sens. It's light, fits on your shoulder and can fit a laptop. Its a bit on the skinny side compared to a garden party. I actually use a LV (not a neverfull) as I can't find a H bag that suits my needs for a travel/workhorse bag.

I like my garden party very much. The downside is it’s open at the top, has a canvas interior and does not have metal feet. If you are driving and use a laptop cover and cases/protective insert it should be ok.
I find that the snap keeps it pretty well shut. I can close the snap with my 13" Macbook as long as I don't have a protective sleeve on it. My SA had suggested the Garden Party as a work horse bag for times I don't want to carry a Birkin.

Great to see your GP and 13” laptop inside!
Can I ask what are the specs for your bag (size, leather, color)? And what’s the size of your rodeo?

I use my old LV Marylebone that I bought during my first trip to Paris. It's truly a workhorse as I carry it in the rain and for business and personal travel. It's probably my most used bag. It's discontinued but pops up on reseller sites every now and again. I considered the double sens but it's too skinny for what I carry when I travel.
