I have and love the same Birkin as yours, X in a circle, 1994. To me a Kelly will be much harder to use as an everyday bag, as it holds less and is harder to get in and out of. That said, I like Box leather for a Kelly. Let us know what you decide.I love my workhorse, a B 35 Vache Natural GHW. She is strong timeless and just a perfect companion. She has been my workhorse for years. But I feel like she can use a break by adding a 2nd workhorse to my collection. A Kelly will make a great 2nd workhorse but what leather aside from Vache Naturale will be ideal for the task?
Recommendations for a perfect 2nd workhorse to add to my collection are welcome.
Thanks

If I could find a Kelly Barenia then yes that will be a perfect 2nd workhorseIf you love Vache Natural and want a workhorse Kelly, why not Barenia? Here’s my 1999 Barenia K35, both tough and beautiful, a great workhorse bag!

I will definitely consider Ardennes as well. Durability and resistance are one of the most important factors. How about Ardennes? Tough, durable and virtually scratch and weather proof. A little thicker and heavier than Clemence. Right now I’m using my Ardennes Kelly 35 as my workhorse. I leave the front draw straps open for easier access.
Not glamorous but an action shot:
