Finally I can add something! There's a bit of a story to it, but I''ll try and wrap it up pretty quick..
When my Gran died 2 years ago, I was handed down a very pretty, yet very old diamond ring (in which the diamonds had barely no sparkle at all, that's just how old it was) that she had for ages, she acutally got it from her mother when she turned 16.
Before Gran met my grandfather she was engaged to a decent young soldier whom she cared about very much and when he had to leave (that was at the time of World War II) she gave him the ring so he wouldn't forget about her.. By the time he knew he wouldn't make it home he send her the ring back and she kept it all through the years, wore it as a right hand ring and never ever took it off. So that's how Gran told me the story..
Now as I said, this ring was handed down to me and I used to wear it with a plain white gold band before I got it resized, after that I wore it all by itself. About 2 weeks ago, BF and I were invited to dinner and I've been searching like mad for my ring - nowhere to be found. I was so sad and disappointed cause I thought I had lost it somewhere, cause since resizing I lost weight so the ring's a bit loose.
Yesterday when I got home, there were candles all over the place, BF was cooking.. I really felt like I just walked into a restaurant

On my side of the table there was a little red box and instantly my curiosity was KILLING me

So we had dinner, and it was yummy and gorgeous and everything and then he FINALLY let me open the box and there was Grans ring, all shiny and new and lovely
One more thing before the pics start: When I started dating my BF we were chatting about why either of us is single and he tried to explain (which didn't work out at all *lol*) and ended with the following: "I'm looking for a sapphire that fit's the setting of my soul" - now guess what he came up with for the ring

And now, the pictures.. The first one is before, the second one is after
