Here are rarities: two antique Navajo/Pueblo nugget and tab necklaces, from the start of the 20th c. Dating 1900-1920, well before electricity was available to cut or shape the stones. Of course, this is entirely natural turquoise. This sort of necklace is a very old form.
One strand is bluer (aqua-blue), the other a deep green. Both have the "squaw wrap" neck closure, for slipping over the head. Yes, I'm wearing these, not just collecting!

without getting specific if it's too personal, were these very expensive? where did you find them?

LUCKY GIRL! Those are some gorgeous treasures to add to any collection. I bet they look fantastic on you.

Thank you! I've hunted a good long while and had to make some tweaks in my collection in order to acquire these, but I'm so happy with them. These are older and more wearable than most you see available for sale.
I'm so glad you enjoy seeing them.
I could picture wearing these with a plain black shirt and jeans. How will you wear them? Would you wear both together? So fun to find a treasure like this.

The look you describe is definitely one I'll do. I wore the bluer one the other day in a dressy casual way with a black thin-gauge tunic length cardigan, black tank, and black tailored slacks, and I thought it worked very well. Either necklace also works with a white shirt and jeans, or colored jeans, possibly with a jean jacket. I've also worn necklaces of this sort with a linen summer dress.
Lots of people layer these necklaces, adding Navajo silver beads and such, but I will wear them separately. Each is 70-80 grams, and it can get heavy to layer up.

Just added this piece to my NA collection....signed piece by Navajo R Platero. I'm looking for a Navajo chain to wear it on. The bail is small so it's going to be a little tough to find one small enough!!

That is GORGEOUS! The blue color of the turquoise is to die for. Do show us what you come up with for a replacement chain. I've been at a loss to come up with authentic NA chains for my NA pendants. A leather choker-style chain would also be pretty, but it probably wouldn't get through the bail.
