Ok, I'm a total dork but...are the treated, or do they FEEL like snakeskin? Ya know....kind of slimy?

hey beeb, snakes feel warm and not really smooth, kind of velvety actually. I have touched some in my life and was very surprised, that is why I can carry a python bag. My daughter have never dared to touch any, and she screams when my bag is close to her :D

Just love everyone's bags and the vintage bags are an extra treat.I just found a vintage I. Magnin alligator bag at a swap meet for $5! I will post a picture later.

Hi guys,
I bought 2 1920s clutches off Ebay for $85 (US) each: one Alligator and the other Ostrich. The Alligator has 1/2" tears on the back on either side and the Ostrich has part of the flap that needs to be resewn/restitched. I have a tailor, but I don't know of anyone in my city that repairs vintage exotic skins. Several vintage shop owners know me though; maybe I can ask them? Would a shoe shop/cobbler be able to help? I don't have them yet, since they're in the mail, but here are the links from Ebay:

Alligator: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...787031&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_878wt_1165

Ostrich: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...787848&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_872wt_1165

Thank you for your help.

Scarlett
PS: Ladakini and Vesna, I shop VintageSkins, too!

Hey!

I just found a Corbeau Curio Ostrich Bag for only $30 (£20) in a Vintage shop! It's tan, clearly has been used, but overall it's in very good condition! The strap needs some restitching here and there, but otherwise I'm totally excited about it! I needed an everyday kind of bag, and to find a Vintage one, labelled, AND an exotic skin, well...I couldn't have asked for a better find!

It seems that the owner doesn't know what they have, because while this one was £20, another one that was unsigned-uncertain-if-it-was-genuine-ostrich-or-not, was going for £35 (~$50)!!

I'm pretty pleased though! Can post pics if anyone wants to see, just let me know!

Oh! And I just bought these from vintageskins.com!!
