Shouldn't take it personally but..hit buying limit?

I am relatively new to LV and purchased several SLGs and accessories. I am trying the smaller items before deciding on a bigger purchase. To my surprise I attempted to purchase a bandeau last evening and my order was cancelled. I contacted client services who initially told me it must have been my credit card. This was not the case as the purchases were showing up on my account and were being reversed by LV. I waited another day and attempted again - AND CANCELLED! I called customer service again only to be told there is a purchase limit and I had to wait 30 days to make another purchase. Is anyone else experiencing this issue and why do all client services advisors not have the same information?
The stores can bypass this limit so you can still make purchases in store. Also, if you get a nice enough advisor when you call Client Services, they’ll place a phone order for you, which is another way to bypass the purchase limit. Good luck!

I have a list of things I am lusting over. And like every other person out there, I have some hard-to-find pieces that I’m desperate to buy. The thing is, I don’t have an SA. Do you guys think that jumping from one boutique to another, and buying from one department store to another, makes a difference? I would love to have someone I can text who can get stuff for me but right now I just want to get my items (before we potentially go into lockdown again). The gov has not announced any quarantine closures in Canada but I want to get my shopping out of the way in case. (I’m buying for me and buying for gifts - I am not a reseller. I just want LV SLGs as stocking stuffers).

I’m getting the recto verso from Holt Renfrew. I’m buying other SLGs in diffferent stores (whoever has in stock, I buy). And I’m also shopping online. The website says there might be bans for people who buy too much consecutively, and for people who shop at too many locations. What’s your opinion on this? Has anyone had first hand experience? Are they super strict?

Hello!

there is no problem in buying from multiple locations/SAs

Here is the extract from lv website

no more than 3 leather goods (including small leather goods) per transaction, with no more than 2 identical products per such transaction. Also customers cannot, within 4 consecutive weeks, (i) buy more than 6 leather goods products (including small leather goods products), or (ii) buy in more than 3 different LV stores in the worldwide network, or (iii) conduct more than 8 transactions of all kind of products, whether the transactions are conducted at our physical stores or online stores. In any case the total number of purchased leather goods (including small leather goods products) will not exceed 12 products within 12 consecutive months.

does not apply to jewellery, shoes, scarves, perfumes, RTW

I'm sure I passed my limit by ordering online this year. I still was able to go to the store and buy something. I also ordered thru my SA. I'm sure she could see i passed the limit but didn't say anything. Get what you want!
This limit is per person, if you want you could create an account for some one in household and get them to purchase for you!
It is a yearly limit so you are just 1 month away for counter to reset

Hi thanks so much for the reply. I’m close to hitting 6 leather goods in 4 weeks (I’m at 5 as of now, and I bought within 2 and a half weeks). It just sucks a little since everything I wanted kept popping up online recently so had to get it. I didn’t have any luck online at all at the start of the year. I was hoping to buy LV gifts for family but if they will flag my account for buying then I might need to buy from a diff brand instead. I just know people will compare gifts so I wanted to get SLGs all from one brand :(

Your account could get flagged if you don't give yourself at least a one week break in between 1-3 weeks of purchases. Before resellers became a dime a dozen, binge buying and multiple boutiques would sometimes get someone flagged as a potential counterfeiter. The lv at champs elysees was known for blocking purchases years ago, particularly with Asian tourists/enthusiasts.

As much as possible, really look for an SA you enjoy as you hop around boutiques right now. Once they know you and your buying habits, exceptions can be made.

Yeah I agree. Thanks for the heads up. Definitely don’t want to be flagged!

Actually, someone (in another thread) suggested taking a family member with me and shopping under their account but I don’t know if that will work.. my family is who I am shopping for

You don't need to have them with you, technically. That's actually my workaround lol. It is perfectly fine, and better imo, to purchase a gift under the recipient's name though. If they want to return, exchange, or inquire about a repair in the future, it makes things a lot easier.

The return/exchange would either be a credit to their account, your account, or a return to your credit card (I think on the last part). I don't know the exact way they credit, since the SA who sold my mom a gift for me accidentally put it under the wrong client's name. They were able to fix it without charging her again, so it obviously came back as a credit to someone's account.

When I had to get my bag repaired, they did ask for purchase history info, since it was a new and limited piece. The piece was originally available at a dept store, in a different state. I've never bought from that chain, so I asked a family member who had a purchase history for help. They didn't tell the SA to put the bag under my name. I basically told lv that it was a gift, purchased under so and so's name. I had to give at least one form of their contact info. This was the first time LV asked me to confirm purchase history and contact info for a repair. Given the bag's limited status, how new the bag was when it needed fixing, AND it wasn't under my profile, I understood their caution.

Long story short, purchase gifts under the recipient's name. It makes their life easier.
