wowwwww! thanks for all the opinions, everyone. i have decided to keep the necklace. I do feel like Tiffany's is sometimes a rip-off, but this necklace has really grown on me. i catch myself looking more in mirrors and windows just to get a glimpse of it. thanks to all my tpf buddies for your advice. =)

i think its super cute...ur paying for the name, ^ in platnium prices AND (my fav reason) Charlotte wore this A LOT on sex and the city

like A LOT!...so im sure prices went up after the crazy (ie people came in and asked and asked, and tiff took and took! :)

I believe Charlotte actually wore the Lizzie Scheck bow, which is also super cute and a bit less expensive than the Tiffany version. :)

But, I love the Tiffany version. I think it's elegant - sometimes, designers do really funky things with bows and make them look too stuffy or girly - I think the Tiffany version got it right with a balanced and classy bow for any age!

The important thing is that it mesmerizes you. If that's the case, you will feel justified with the price. I agree that Tiffany is riding on it's name now - their jewelry is generally not special, the quality has gone down and they use very little materials (platinum, diamonds, whatever) in them, making them very lightweight. That said, I have bought a few Tiffany items that I love, even though I felt like a fool paying the price for them. With all the jewelry online now, people can research and find such gorgeous designs that waaay surpass Tiffany in beauty, quality, and value, and that's what has opened my eyes to Tiffany rip-off. But I digress...;)

I enjoy the things I've bought there, but don't expect to hand them too much of my money in the future. I think it's possible to love a piece so much that the price can be overlooked, I've done it.

I couldn't agree with you more- very well put.

Its gorgeous.

Until I got to the part where you paid 3k for it.

wow! they really have gone up in price.

.... I would return it.. and look for a similar necklace with diamonds. ice.com, overstock.com even amazon has similar pieces... along with Fortunoffs.

You could get one with the same carat weight for between 300 and 600 dollars.

That's what you get.. paying for a name sometimes.
