Constance 18 Mirror Cloute In Black Box Leather. Saw it on display yesterday, my SA got it out for me to try (and swoon over). Got the cryptic email this morning asking me if I could come back into store this afternoon.
When they do that I just say - I know math reasonably well (I work in highly complicated transactions, plus come from a family of calculus people, including internationally renowned university professor). My mom retired almost 30 years ago and she is quoted in academic publications more than once every single day (I receive the emails bc I have the same last name). Then I explain that if I have to spend 6000-8000 to have a NQB, for me it is more convenient to go to resale market, bc I can do ISO post and get all other items BNIB I love (except for a few bag models) highly discounted, and I can use the savings to buy the bag I want. Also this bag on resale is at retail or so close, so what is the incentive to get it here then? It is the reality nowadays. Of course I say it on a very respectful way, but no SA I ever said that ever said that to me again, and I got a couple of Constances (even one from display) and many other NQBs this way.
I mention I work hard and value my money, and in the end they all understand it and get disarmed.
The first answer is always: “we can’t guarantee products outside the store, there are lots of scammers there”.
True, but I am fine with taking that risk.
In a few minutes the bags become available all of a sudden. Every single SA I said that said they understand my position (and some say - “I would do the same”).
First, what they are saying to you allegedly is not in corporate policy - don’t they say that prespend is not necessary, that it is the relationship? If it is the relationship, why are you saying I have to spend that much to have access to that bag? Of course I don’t say that, but it is implied. I don’t believe in Santa or the Easter bunny, and I heard from many SAs prespend is required (unless you are VIP, celebrity, long-term client) and I know there are unwritten rules on that, so…
