I wonder if Constance’s are having a hard time selling?
Nothing at H is truly “hard to sell” of course, but I noticed that reseller price on C18 softened quite a bit. I think small, boxy, crossbody bags aren’t in style right now. We’re in the slouchy era.

I still love the Constance though and I think yours is exquisite! Congrats!

Wasn’t really looking for a bag today as awaiting a B25 in grey or rouge H but offered the following by my SA who seemed quite insistent on selling a Constance to me; also with the amount of choices available I wonder if Constance’s are having a hard time selling? Would be interested to hear about anybody else’s experience.
Anyway, here’s what was offered and what tugged at my heart strings to ultimately return home with me.
Offered:
- Constance elan Etoupe Epsom GHW
- Constance elan black box GHW (rejected as I have a BBK25)
- C18 black box GHW
- C18 sesame lizard PHW (this was a shame as I had this on my Wishlist years ago but the sesame color in lizard was not to my taste-absolute shame as I have been wanting lizard for ages!)
- C18 rose darling Chèvre PHW (also a shame as I did want something in rose darling but the pale pink and PHW lacked sufficient contrast (for my preference would have preferred with permabrass or RGHW)

What came home with me:
Rouge piment box C18 GHW
Is this in the US?!? Constance’s are impossible to get at my home store! I’d love another one but don’t even bother asking. Every bag style is impossible at my store.

You should ask! Constances are often available because a) they are the “highest tier” bag that still gives commission to the SA so the SA is happy to sell them , b) many clients have become wise to the fact that accepting any bag other than a quota bag will likely delay acquisition of their desired quota bag and thus Constances are becoming slightly more difficult to sell and c) the price increases on them can be hard to swallow.

This ! Thank you for your insight as always , that truly was the vibe I was getting that there was commission involved.

Yeah, that’s the tradeoff. Delay in qb.
