Plus, it was white gold. All my vca has been yellow gold because I was afraid of white gold loosing rhodium plate over time. It bothers ME. I see the worn white gold pieces are not as shiny like the first time. I can tell for sure. I love to keep things like new and I’m diligent about cleaning diamond jewelry regularly. One reason I don’t buy stone/diamond together type of vca jewelry. I need jewelry to be safe to clean home.

Why did I buy the White gold this time? I wanted something ‘special’ and not too much of the evening look at the same time. I was able to change my mind because I knew that I am not gonna wear the White butterfly as often as other yellow gold ones. Therefore, the rhodium plate will last longer. It took me few years to come to this conclusion 😅 I think White gold is such a beauty for some occasions/outfits which yellow can’t give out.

I thought about why is the butterfly a lot more? 1) the marquis cut diamonds 2) mechanism of the back 3) maybe harder to make butterfly shape. Explanations are below.

1) the two marquis cut is quite small but still bigger than tiny paves. 2) I included photo. You will see the back has extended butterfly shape piece. It may add up to the price. 3) unlike Frivole the wings of butterfly are not in one piece. Upper wings and lower wings are joined with the marquis cut diamond.

Both Lapis & Turquoise are pretty. I think vca has decided to keep their Turq/yellow & Lapis/yellow combo as higher price jewelry. We know they can’t be found in other collections anymore. That makes probably Turq/yellow MORE special I think. And they want us to pay extra for the special one. Is it worth for you?

I am glad I am not the only one grappling with this issue. I need more time to really think on it. If I can’t get the earrings out of my mind then it’s worth it so I am going to wait and not make an impulse purchase.

I totally agree - so glad I ended up purchasing the small frivole pave pendant. It’s definitely stopped me from purchasing any other pendants. I was considering the Graff butterfly collection and also an agate Alhambra pendant but held off because I knew it wouldn’t compare. Here’s some eye candy from the try ons.

Your Graff butterfly necklace is so beautiful! I tried it out in boutique several months ago and oh my gosh I wanted it so badly. It's definitely in my wish list now.

To stick to topic I just purchased my VA YG hammered that I ordered and received this week. They are just perfect in colour. Like them more than RG. But have tons of RG so hammered in RG still very useful …

It rained new purchases this week as I received my ordered hammered VA YG earrings (ordered 10.10.2024 and received 05.02.2025)

But my lovely SA also could find something special I just loved 2 weeks ago as they showed the Alhambra magic WG pendant short version in the main window of the boutique. Tried it but told her I wanted the long version sautoir that is more versatile… she told me only wishlist.

And tadaaa it appeared (all magic 🪄 as it is a Magic pendant 🤭) (we say in French « it must have fallen from the truck ») so here I am with the long sautoir magic pendant. Very blingy. Like the versatility of the piece.

BIG CONGRATS @spaul

The long version of Magic Alhambra pendant is indeed very versatile and I am also convinced to get mine (though initially I made a fuss to justify the price difference over the length + clover size 😅 as compared to the Pendant version) after getting the unexpected offer early this week.

I will post once I collect mine ... pretty soon 🥰🥰🥰
