Finally went to pick up my eagerly awaited newest purchase!

As I previously mentioned, I was exploring Dubai Mall on my first full weekend last Sunday, and I decided to go to the Fashion Avenue boutique to try on some pieces. The plan was to wait until my next trip to Tokyo to pull the trigger, but in the meantime I wanted to make sure what I had in mind was the right choice.

My new SA wasn’t there that day, but I was assisted by a lovely lady in the meantime, and I asked to see the 10-motif necklace in Onyx to try it on for the umpteenth time. As I was playing with it, I happened to try my luck and asked, you don’t have any pieces in hammered gold do you?

“As a matter of fact, we have a piece on display if you’d like to try it on?”

I was flabbergasted. I was fully expecting a no, and when she went to go get the piece, I was expecting a 20-motif, or earrings - stuff that I wouldn’t have considered.

I nearly squealed with unbridled pleasure when she came back with a 10-motif necklace in Hammered Yellow Gold! I have to say, all thoughts of the onyx went out the window as I tried the hammered gold on! Here was such a sought-after piece and it was on display, and free for purchase! I couldn’t believe my luck!

But I wasn’t actually planning to make any purchases and here I was on my second day in Dubai already thinking about this! I ended up putting it on hold for 24 hours to consider it - only to rush back after work the next day to purchase it, and arrange for the necklace to be extended. I decided this was going to be my welcome to Dubai gift to myself!

I got the text on Thursday that it was ready, and I spent all of Friday willing the day away to get to the weekend!

I am so in love with this necklace - I can foresee my poor single pendant being neglected for a while… I’ve adjusted my Tokyo wishlist too!

Thank you! When I was young, I was not really into hearts or other feminine symbols, it was always stars for me! So this little starfish really captured my heart ❤️
