Apologies in advance for my longwinded reply, I'm just overly excited now
My 2020 wishlist was small this year. When my SA asked me this question again in November I knew it was a longshot given that my store is small and I have been told that Kellys rarely come in. I wanted a Retourne Kelly in Gold with Gold hardware, size 32. That was it. I don't want an overly large collection and have checked all the boxes that work for my life. After my special order Kelly came in after close to two years of waiting I love her so much I longed for a Gold sister for my Etain beauty. Gold is a color that works so well with my wardrobe. I went with Etain for my special order because I didn't have a cool classic color in my collection.
Fast forward to Friday when my last appointment of the year was scheduled. My CA just went out on maternity leave and had forwarded my request to the store manager. I mentioned in passing to the CA that is taking over her duties I might be interested in a fun color Picotin. Right after I told her that I was a bit sorry as I really don't want another hand carry bag. I went in thinking it might be awkward to turn one down after thinking about it. My box was on the table when I arrived. As she removed this lid both myself and my husband who has had to hear about my doubts were a bit confused. This was not a fun color picotin. It was a Gold Kelly Retourne! And not just any ordinary Kelly. The first thing I noticed was the brushed Gold hardware. Truly stunning with the leather. Then I saw it had Craie piping. I looked at my CA and asked is this a horseshoe bag? She said yes it is! And so this beauty practically ran out of the store with me. I have no idea why someone turned it down and realize it might have been for sad reasons, and for that I felt a little bad. Ultimately who knows what the reason was but it brought me the most joy I have had in this sad and stressful year. What I do know is that the that person ordered exactly what I would have ordered and then some. I don't know that I would have been brave enough to go with the Craie piping
but I love it! Presenting Miss Kelly 32 Retourne in Gold with brushed Gold (Permabrass?) hardware, Craie interior and piping. Christmas wishes really do come true
