I love Togo, but this patch of Togo leather is very different from I have had and seen.

I know it is difficult right now but consider this particular bag not the right leather. If it had been another leather you would have probably passed it without a second thought. At these prices, it truly should be complete and utter LOVE at first sight. You will never love this particular handbag. You made the right choice, even though it was a very difficult one. I know that the H fairy will tap her magic wand and with a sprinkle of her fairy dust the right one will find its way to you eventually and you will be so happy that you waited instead of settling. Hugs to you during this difficult time. Please do not ever settle for something that isn’t exactly what you truly desire.

I don’t think conditioning will help. Also, I have heard that the artisans at Hermes don’t recommend using any conditioner in any bags. In fact, I did over conditioning my C18, and it almost become a disaster. I ended up sending it to H spa to restore it.
Wow, at least they were able to restore it. I have never conditioned a bag of mine yet.. I worry about it becoming too soft, as I have heard horror stories too! Just curious if conditioning would help a leather that was “too dry”.. but for the price we pay for our bags, they really should be 100% perfect

Thank you so much! Your words make me feel so much better. That is the beauty of these forums I can’t seem to share it to anyone beside my hubby. Oh well looking forward to another bag offer in next semester. I am missing this semester bag as I have been declined some offers already.

Glad I could help. This would have been a very expensive mistake that would have left you yearning for the “right” one. You truly made the right, albeit painful, choice. I think it shows Hermès that you expect certain things and settling just to not miss out on a quota handbag is not something that you are willing to do. I think it shows you have integrity. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that your next one will be perfection!

I see. Oh man, I know it is not defective but yes I can’t enjoy a bag that so dry to touch!
I know it was hard to decline but good you did. I had a kelly 28 like that! I didn’t notice it so much in the boutique. When I got her home.... I was snapping pics and thought Yuck! I hated it. Had to rehome. It was thin, dry, matte and looked ashy all the time. Sorry hun!

Birkin 25 gris Etain Togo rghw
I passed the bag, but I am crying inside. It’s my dream combo bag. However, the Togo leather is so dry and matte. I just wondering if any of you ladies have experienced or seen that type of leather?

I know a lot of girls love togo but I really don't find it appealing at all. As you said, it's dry and matte.
There are so many other options of leathers which really bring out the beautiful colors and sheen and look/feel very luxurious.
My first birkin is in swift and from the moment i held it I knew I'll never go for a matte/dry leather like togo or a bit hard like epsom (another fav of many).

I hope you get you dream bag soon :)

Thank you for your response! I actually like Togo leather, cause it is easy going for me with two toddlers. However, I am talking about the bad batch of Togo leather. One of my friend mentioned that her acquaintance turned an offer down in another b25 last week or so because of the leather. I came in to check out the bag and noticed immediately the leather is so off. So I had to turn it down and left quite sad
