When I was picking up my B25 a few weeks ago, my SA pointed to a box in the back with a stack of nine “hold for” papers on it. My SA said it was a black B30. My B25 only had six hold tags on it (after me) but I think that’s because I had already talked to my SA before the bag was even in the store and told them I was 100% taking it.
i dont understand this tag system. One would think if a bag is on hold for me and its not simultaneously offered to someone else, is it?

No, it's basically a waiting line. It's offered to the first person and if they reject it, then it's put on hold for the second person. The second SA then offers it to the second client and if they reject it, they move on to the third tag, and so on and so forth.

Hmm. I don’t know she wouldn’t tell me if there were tons of other people who were in line for that bag. I got the impression that there was just that one person who had the bag on hold. Otherwise I don’t know why she said she would contact me if that person didn’t pick it up.

So are there holds on items even before the actual product arrives in the store? As in, as soon as the store gets notification that on is on the way?

What Acrowcounted is what I have encountered as well. I was offered an exotic B, which I promptly refused (I don't fancy exotic skins). I was curious about the bag a day later and was told that the bag was already reserved but I could be added as the second in case the first person refused.

My home store knows what is coming in and notifies their clients that are seeking that bag, have not met quota for the season... long before the bag comes in.
