Here’s my 10-motif YG Guilloche. My first and only (thus far!).
Looking at all of your beautiful necklaces inspired me to get my own 10 motif vintage Alhambra malachite necklace. Yay!!! I just received it though and I am not sure about keeping it as the striations in the malachite don’t pop like others I have seen in this thread.
I’m not sure if I should send it back and hope another one with better contrast comes in stock or if I should just keep it because it is rare. May I please have your opinions?

I agreed with you about the striations (or the lack thereof). The motifs look dull because of the lack of contrast. I think you should send it back and wait for a better piece to come by. If you're not 100% happy with it, for the price you shouldn't settle. Congrats on the purchase though!
I agree with @waterlily112. This isn’t a necklace you should settle for. Do you have an SA to work with? She/he could look out for the right piece for you. I think the malachite alhambra is one of the most beautiful pieces VCA produces. You should get exactly what you want.

Hopefully the SA just been busy because of Mother's day coming up soon so they're tied up with appointments. Doesn't hurt to just pop in the boutique one day, even if your current SA is unavailable, I'm sure the SM would be happy to assist you with the return & sourcing for a new piece. Good luck!
Maybe it’s just the lighting? VCA surely would not let a piece such as this leave their workshop?! Yeah. Fully agree with @waterlily112 and @MomMomx3. Unacceptable. You had an SA and didn’t get this off the secondary market right?
Thank you, @tenshix and @littlecollector. The Guilloche earrings were my first VCA purchase. During the pandemic I drove roughly 1,200 miles roundtrip 6 times to be with my Dad. On the last trip I decided to treat myself. So the earrings are not only beautiful they hold an important memory for me. The necklace came the following year. I always like sets.
I will be honest with you sorry this doesn’t sparks joy in my heart at all and it’s my favorite color not sure if it’s the lighting but I would return and not only that your first impression was on point to return.
I think this may be the least popular opinion ever, but I really LOVE this necklace. I don't care for heavy striations in malachite which, again, I think I'm totally alone in saying.
The lack of striations here for me make the necklace look unusual. I really like that. But all this said, it sounds as if you do love the striations in malachite and thus I agree with the others here who have said that you should exchange. I have never seen malachite that is this flat, and I don't think your replacement will look like this. This is an investment piece that you'll have for a long time, so it should be perfect for YOU.
