Not to go OT, but a horse is groomed before and after riding. One would never put a horse away sweaty, instead we walk them to cool down, then wash if needed, then groom. It is also a time to check for any injury or rubs to the skin. Ideally, brushes etc would be cleaned also before putting them away, but in reality, just as thoroughly as needed.
I do agree, back to topic, an Evelyne would not be the place to hold and store all grooming supplies, a grooming box is most often unglamorous plastic for easy washing. I would sooner put even an unwashed brush in an Evie than a used hoof pick though! That would definitely require externally facing perforations![]()
I meant no brushing when wet.
I'm with you. I had a metal tool box I was given my my father and kept hoof-oil and other things that were heavier, backups etc in a wooden chest. H sells us the romance, but they have usually based the designs on old examples.
I visited a stable in Stuttgart about 10 years ago and woman there had lots of Hermes bits in her grooming kit. It was a very upmarket stable. Even H made-for-horses stuff seems a pity to use.
