Some non management SAs can buy bags including coveted QB, on a case by case basis, with varying levels of upper echelon approval. My US based SA was able to do so recently.
I know for a fact that the SAs can buy QBs in the US. I won’t disclose what they got for privacy reasons. My SAs got QBs that are items that I would want in my collection. Good for them as they have to put up with all of us. :)

This is correct, and certainly also in France and the UK. My French SA has a beautiful collection of bags. My London SA (whom I almost never shop with anymore, but still text with) just took home a special item that, like you, I'd love to have in my collection. I am assuming someone opined that this isn't the case?
Maybe it's different with really junior SAs, but the ones I work with have Birkins and Kellys including exotics and so on. And yes, they reaaallly deserve it!

I already posted about this in the Reference Section, but thought I would post here too. No, the picture above is not reversed. Engraving can usually be found on the right sangle, but on vintage bags (especially pre-1985), it is not uncommon to find engraving on the left, right, or even both sangles in some cases. Here, it is on the left sangle of one of my oldest bags. And by the way, this is the original gold plated brass hardware that Hermès used before adopting the gold hallmark stamp on all GHW.;)
Yes! Here's my 1952 Kelly with engraving on both sangles.

I'm reviving this thread before the year's end to indulge in one of my favourite pastimes: sharing some fascinating Hermès facts! I've put together a bit of a pop quiz, so you can test your knowledge. Enjoy!;):flowers:

Note: The facts and figures stated below are in reference only to the colour and leather offerings used for bags, SLGs, and costume jewellery. These stats include info for À La Carte/Special Order, Podium Order, and Push Offers. All information is based on data from my updated colour x leather list posted here.

- Hermès Pop Quiz -

1. Which leather has been available in the most colours? (Barring Chèvre Marocain, that would be unfair.)

Produced in over 160 colours, Clémence takes the cake! Togo comes in at a close 2nd with around 150 colour offerings.

2. Which colour has been produced in the most leathers? (Barring classic colours— i.e., Black, Étoupe, Gold, and Rouge H.)

Bleu Indigo.

3. How many colours has Hermès produced throughout the years?

Hermès has produced over 330 colours! If you figure in colours available for RTW, silks, and non-leather costume jewellery, I’m sure that figure would be even higher.

4. How many leathers has Hermès offered over the years?

Hermès has offered over 80 varieties of leather produced from over 15 distinct species of animals.

5. How many leather x colour combinations total are there?

~1800 (out of over 27,000 possible combinations)
