friponne, this is OUTSTANDING!!

attachment.php

Wow, friponne, you're a magician. But, I've got to ask - are you still walking around with a hand matching your Kelly? That hand looked like something right out of a horror movie. Poor hand!

Thank you all for the lovely comments! :flowers::flowers:

sorry for the delay (flat battery), but here we go, some 'before' pics.

(Took 2 days and a looong bath to get my hand back to civilized colour, poor bag was literally bleeding to death during cleaning! So much so that it all rubbed nicely into the white wounds/tears/peeled corners with the conditioner.
I had to make do with whatever I had at home (all Fiebing products: Glycerine saddle soap; 4-way conditioner; neatsfoot oil, and a bit of Aussie balm) - I might have done more harm than help, but at least it's not as much parched and desiccated as before. I'm getting some proper care-stuff - per Docride's thread - soon though.

(the 3rd pic is a bit blurry, it shows the big yellow-green mouldy patches on the inside)

'After' pics will follow tomorrow... Mind you, it's still a trashed old bag!;)

:faint: Well, pick me up off the floor! I can't believe you took ^ THAT and made it into ^^^ THAT!! It looks a million times better! And I'm sure that poor scarf (also a train wreck) is more than happy to be of service... How did you get rid of the mould inside? (or did you?)

One day...we'll have a vote as to the top train wreck. In that spirit, it is worth preserving this beast in all it's glory for posterity:

This is a very interesting one. I bought this on June 22, 2006 from Luxury-zurich (E-Bay) for $2500. You can check my buyer feedback. I thought that it would be super cute with all the patent leather that the designers were showing. I brought it in to Hermes NYC for re-furbishing-(see receipt) and to make a long story short..they totally ruined the patent.

So here it is..up for auction a authentic HERMES 1960's black patent leather Kelly bag that is in HORRIBLE condition. It has a grey matte patina? and it is a combination of black and grey now. Gold hardware. Inside is very clean.

Good for someone who in on the creative side or who wants a project?? Can have the frame recovered? Can Paint? Will come with Hermes dust bag and box..which is also a bit beat up.

OMG! What did they say when they returned it to you in this condition? I think I would have insisted they send it to Paris to see what on earth could be done.
