Popped to Trafford Centre Selfridges this morning for a Father's Day present for DH. Didn't realise the sale had started.

Now having small children I haven't been to "the sales" for years, I tend to bargain hunt online these days. I was a bit shocked at the treatment the thousands of pounds of stock was getting. All heaped up like a jumble sale, all be it a posh jumble sale. I had the urge to tidy and pick stuff up. I don't suppose it's easy when there's a sale but when I think of the care I take with my bags. Maybe it's old age creeping up on me.:shrugs:

I was tempted by an A McQ skull scarf at £82 and there was a non returnable table with a black Daria Hobo at £395 which I couldn't find a fault on. BUT I decided I was buying because of the discount not because I loved/needed them so back to the shelf they went.:amazed:

Came home with a nice Champagne for DH and some goodies from the food hall. No sale bargains at all!!!! :faint: or should that be :angel:

I agreee!!! I went to selfridges bham and i literally could not believeee how all of the bags are piled up on one another just like that. Thousands and thousands pounds worth of stock!!

Omg!! Why don't they put more stock online if they have so much?!! I tried phoning today but they won't take calls on the shop floor because it is so busy......I live a long way from any Selfridges store!

Well done on being so restrained.....I don't think I would have been, I tried to get a scarf online this morning at 5.15 but the ones I liked had already sold out!! I'm hoping they might add more stock!

Very much learned the hard way. For me these days, better to keep the cash and save for something I love, than a cupboard of bargains with tags on!!!!!! Although if it's a bargain AND you love it :yahoo:.;) Jackpot

Well it seems that Selfridges are as bad as Flannels! My 50% reduced daria hobo will not be coming. I paid £12 for next day before 10.30am delivery so it would get picked asap & guess what - when they went to pick my bag it was out of stock! Rubbish!:nogood::mad:

Thanks guys. It's sooo annoying. Made worse by the fact I logged on to check the status of my order, ie if despatched yet & it says "cancelled"!! So I have to ring them! Surely they should have contacted me immediately?! Very shoddy service. I thought more of Selfridges than this. It's basics afterall! Simple stock system. Not difficult ! Nevermind.
