second thoughts about my new daytona

I just went and looked at it again. I have to say, I think it's amazing on you.

I don't think you should doubt your ability to pull it off, if you can carry off a pink croco Birkin, you can definitely rock the watch.

In the end though, you need to listen to your gut.

I prefer the classic look myself and I love the day date. BUT you can always sell the Daytona if you love it now but dont think it will be as in style in 5-10 years. You dont sound like you 100% love it though.

You can check on the pics of Victoria Beckham. She wears her Daytona most of the time and it looks gorgeous on whatever outfit she is wearing. Hope this helps coz its a nice watch and you got it before the price increase so its an advantage again for you.

You bought it on an impulse and if you doubt it now, I think you should get the day date. Personally, I find men's size too masculine, well, that's why they are for men. I think you should get one that you love since it's your first Rolex.

I had the same dilemna a month ago. Can't decide between Daydate in RG and Daytona in SS...so I consider the Daytona RG.
Daytona in RG was cheaper than the Daydate (meteorite )...so I even thought it could be a good deal in the end ;)...
Thanks to a lot of advices here, I chose the Daydate in RG with meterorite dial and diamonds. For this price point I need something classic and be able to wear it a lot : in multiple occasions (work, week-end), with different clothes styles, and for many years (just not during the trend). I can't wait for Bday in September :graucho:.

But I really love the Daytona, and I think I'll have one in SS. SS works well with sporty watch IMO, and for this price point it's not a big deal if I can't wear it everyday because not always appropriate...and I'm sure I could love it as my favorite pair of jeans  !

I seriously think that the rose gold Daytona is absolutely breathtaking.. I have a steel and gold one and i do wear mine with feminine dresses.. and it doesnt look wrong.. I actually love the look of the whole thing put together.. However, if you have doubts then you should exchange it for what you really want otherwise you'll never wear it..

It's a lot of money and you should be sure you love the watch. Personally for me, I'd prefer the smaller Date watch (still a men's but smaller than the one you purchased?)
But when I shopped for Rolex most the the stores would not do returns or exchanges. Will you be able to return your watch?

Yeah , I agree with you one thing.. the Daytona is really look too musculine. If you are feminine type(like me) , with the same budget I will not go for RG Daytona definitely.
But pls. don't get me wrong, your dayona is absolutly stunning , but when you have a second thought on it , maybe some part of it may not suit you .

There are still some big face RG watch that look gorgeous.
i.e.
- 41mm RG Chopard Emperiale
- Omega Deville Ladymatics

From all of these , I think RG ladymatics with black face is very outstanding ! You should have seen all of this IRL.

HTH :)

Brutally honest opinion: I love your watch, but it's very overpowering. Like someone said before if you were on your 20's it would look edgy and fashionable because of its masculine look. Since you are turning 38 and bought it in an impulse, I'd say go for something that you'd feel comfortable wearing in, let's say, thirty years.
After all, a Rolex is for life, right? ;)

^I just got a Daytona too and I understand what you mean...it is pretty big and chunky but I think it looks amazing on women...looks gorgeous on you! That said, you shouldn't have to talk yourself into liking something, especially something this expensive. Go with your gut...get what makes your heart go pitter patter, and you won't regret it. Whatever choice you make, both the watches you're debating are TDF, so you'll come out ahead!! Congrats!!

Go with what your gut tells you. With this kind of $$ I would have taken my time to decide before I buy. It can be an expensive price to pay when it comes to impulsive buy at this price point. I know it was the pressure from the price increase etc perhaps. But since you already made the decision, do imagine yourself 5-10 years or even 20 years from now if you see yourself wearing it. Or if you just want to have what looks good now, then don't worry about it and if $ is not an issue, keep this RG daytona and get the daydate later! It doesn't hurt to have multiple watches. Most of us do anyways as years go by. But own what you love! Sometimes things do grow on you, you may end up really loving the RG Daytona!

I just went and looked at the pics in your reveal thread again.

TBH I don't think the watch is that masculine. It's a big watch, but that is the style these days. I personally would wear it with "girly" things. Maybe a nice bracelet would balance it out?

But what really matters is what YOU think.

i'm still deciding between daytona and now a lady datejust 26mm (haha complete opposites!) BUT rose gold does not come with diamond bezel (only white, yellow and platinum). i'm kinda wanting the platinum with ice blue bezel! we'll see what i like when i go to the rolex boutique in vegas next week! then i'll make my final decision!

thanks for everyone's honest opinion. keep them coming!!!
