i can't believe i'm saying this but i'm having second thoughts about my new rolex rose gold daytona. i'm not sure if i'm just going through the thought process to make sure i really do love this watch since it's a big purchase.

i'm thinking about whether or not i should have gotten the day-date in rose gold, fluted bezel, pink dial with diamond markers. the daytona is really awesome but i'm afraid that it might be too big and too masculine for me. i thought the rose gold would give it that feminine edge but it's not working very well with feminine clothes like dresses and skirts. with casual or edgy dressup, it works but not with girly clothes.

the daytona is unique, awesome, interesting, and very hip/fashionable VERSUS
day-date which is classic, a little boring, but smaller and slightly more feminine with diamond markers...(i have to admit, this is more "me")

ahhhhh!!! i can't believe i'm doing this to myself right now!

please help me!!! am i crazy for doing this to myself?

I don't think you're crazy at all. I saw your original thread, and thought that the watch looked masculine. Personally, I'd go for something more feminine.

I hope you were looking for an honest response. :smile1:

I might be in the minority, but I think you could go for something just a tad smaller for a more feminine look. Def. stay with Rose Gold, it looks lovely against your skin, but maybe something a little softer, smaller.

I agree with you completely. It is big, it is masculine, it is fashiony. Now, if you can rock what it really is, that's one thing. But it isn't going to change into something else by virtue of being rose gold.

Of course there are other rose gold high-end Rolex choices besides the Day Date, if you find that "boring." And other non-Rolex feminine blingy watches.

I think I looks really nice on you.... Maybe check out the celebrity watch thread? There are some very nice RG daytona pictures wearing with feminine clothes.....

It is a lot of money to be unsure. Do you mind giving your age? I say 20s and 30s - keep it. 40s and up - go with day-date in the rose gold you described. Just my personal opinion. But really, both watches are TDF!

Hiya, I think the Daytona is a gorgeous watch but, as it is a significant purchase, I would be happy if I had not doubts and was 'in love' with the watch. If I was you, go back to the store and try on the day-date (sounds gorg by the way) and see how you feel. I do agree the daytona has a certain look and the day date is much easier to wear whilst still being a stunning watch.

i'm turning 38 later this year! i'm thinking about returning the watch. i rushed to buy the watch before the price increase this week.

You seem to have bought the watch as a impulse purchase because your DH just got his and you got yours because it was there and you were thinking about it and let's face it! shopping is contagious!

Even from your original debate post it seemed like you doubted the feminineness of the daytona versus the Cartier Bb. I think this confirms that you aren't comfortable with the size and masculine chunky appeal. I would return it. Its gorgeous but if it doesn't make you happy then you need to find something that will. I think you'll be happier with the bling and feminineness of the other rolex.

If you are having those doubts then I would defintately return it and get something else.
If you aren't gazing at your wrist in amazement, then it's not the watch for you.
I just bought a Rolex myself and thought about the Daytona in YG,but it looked so big on my wrist and I just didn't see myself wearing it for an everyday watch.
I would look at the day-date!
I ended up ordering the 31mm because the 36mm even seemed to big for me.
Let us know when you decide.

It really does sound like you are not comfortable with the size/generally aura of the Daytona. Though stunning, I would be 110% sure of that purchase given the $$ involved. Go for the Day-Date or something similar.
