So I thought I would share my scarf storage solution here. I have been looking for a chest of drawers not too deep and not too shallow. I also wanted something that could house my collection for the rest of my entire life. I didn’t want to run out of capacity somewhere in my mid 50’s lol. And the insides of the drawers had to be a material that are silk & cashmere friendly and not snag or discolor my scarves.

Here’s what I finally decided on. A chest of drawers by Poltrona Frau called Piu Notte. It’s 48” wide and about 21” deep. The height of the entire chest is 30” high but each drawer is about 4.5” high which I think is about ideal to lay out scarves like they do at the boutique. The insides of the drawers are lined in linen and the drawers “soft close” so scarves don’t slide to the back. I have about 60-70 scarves/shawls and so far, only 1.5 drawers are filled and they are not stuffed. So by my estimation, I could prolly go to about 200 scarves (if needed) with this chest. Hopefully that will be my lifetime max lol.

You can choose from many different leather colors for the exterior. I chickened out and went with a light grey instead of something wild like purple or teal.

What a beautiful chest of drawers for your gorgeous scarves. I need something as mine sit in the boxes and I can’t be bothered going through them to find the one I want so often I don’t wear a scarf.

I have a Dymo label maker - until now only used in the cellar - now to be also used for my scarves!
Multi-tasking for the win!

I found this today and I'm giving it a whirl.

I think I will label the drawers!
If it doesn't work the way I hope, it's onto the envelopes - I've got 20 on the way.
Where did you purchase this from, I like it a lot?

Oh WOW!!
You already have received it! What a lovely and functional way to store your scarves. Was it hard to get rid of all the orange boxes? I am not sure that I even can....
Thanks for sharing. This is such a perfect way to store your silken treasures.
I have my orange boxes stored within larger orange boxes in the rafters of my closet. I couldn’t toss them out either.

Yes that is my prob too. I wanted to make it easy for myself to find one and put them on.

I had to pick up a few things for our guest room so I went to Ikea, sometimes they have great solutions if you're looking for something very specific, and I found this awesome chest (Malm, 6 drawer) with a mirror lid. I have always been in search of a better makeup setup, and this looked perfect. Bonus is that it also screamed scarf storage to me.

Close up of what I have been doing. The Container Store sells do-it-yourself drawer organization kits, which come with long white planks and end pieces with sticky backs. You measure how long you need, score the plank and then it breaks off fairly easily. If I mismeasured I just whittled an end to make it shorter. I did this with the makeup sections so everything fits, here I have scarf rings and belt buckles:

Is it weird that I get excited by organizational ideas ? Nothing like a good ikea or container store purchase love it

Impressive storage everyone. Really like that IKEA cabinet/make up set up.

I just can’t seem to be able to let the boxes go. I like to see them! After Christmas and birthday, I officially ran out of room in nightstand and needed to regroup. So books in bedroom bookcase went down to library and here we are:

Wow! Labeling boxes seems to be the way to go if your keeping the boxes! Very organized! An orange library!

Just to add it reminds me of the Dewey decimal system! :giggle:

 Yes. I've officially reached storage dweeb-ness. But if I didn't label them, I'd go insane trying to find the one I want to wear. I have enough trouble getting out of the house in the morning without that!
