This is such a fun thread 😍 the Elek mod shots of @LKBNOLA and @Ladybaga are stunning and I think these colors, the scale and the design would look very good on you as well.
If the Peuple du vent leans really more coral, then I would not hesitate, coral is so lovely on you.
I think it is very reasonable to have a decent amount of scarves in the same color families that you love and know you will wear 😋

Hey @Jereni! I pulled my Christophe Colombe for you this morning and took some pics. Hope this helps. Apologies for not changing my outfit to show it to better effect, but you get the idea. It is a stunning jacquard. The caravelles are marvelous. I have Napoleon, Fetes Venitiennes and Daimyo (with bees, lutes and gingko leaf jacquards) as well as two "tattoo" with the bees. I would love to find a fireworks jacquard too! In any case, I think this is a lovely lovely piece for any collection.

Omg thank you Nomad!!! That is incredibly helpful. Corail is a color both in my Chevaloscope and in Cheval Sirene and I love it!!! Gah this is now even more tempting.
LKB, I am not sure about my Gene Kelly, the colors listed are ‘Blush/Gris/Blanc’ but I can’t imagine the orangey color is the Blush. Hmmm.

Hi Jereni, this is a fun task. I love Colomb and think it would be great in this cw for you. The sky colors, the details, the flag colors are fab. I was also thinking how impressive this is compared to current designs. I am not on the bandwagon for Peuple du vent. Ex Libris is beautiful, I have always struggled to find a cw that suits me. Had the pink and vert amand and returned, then the corail and cobalt which I sent off to be sold. I think with this design the color really matters.
I love the concept of this thread @Jereni ! Wish I had been as cautious when I began collecting. I now have a bloated collection and too many scarves that are gathering dust. Oh well that’s another story for a different day. I want to offer an alternative to ELEK if I may be so bold. They are hard to come by and the particular colorway you seek often is insanely priced on the resale market. I offer duo cosmique cw #5 for your consideration. Currently under retail over on the bay. Disclaimer : I am not a reseller myself so this is in no way to be taken as self promotion. Just a nosy scarfie waiting on her sleepy family to wake up on New Year’s Day and scrolling TPF. Hi @Foxy trini! So nice to see you here and on TPF. This is an excellent point you are making and I remember at the time there was a discussion on this very point on the seasonal thread when Duo Cosmique came out. I myself did not get cw05 because I already had ELeK so I think the similarities are definitely to be considered-- especially if you do not have a Duo Cosmique, which is also a beautiful design.
You know, you make a VERY good point here. I was considering this cw of Duo Cosmique some months back and put it to the side for some reason that I now can’t remember. It is fantastically similar to ELeK and in a good way. Both look ridiculously good on you, btw.
And yea you are right about the after market pricing on Kimonos. I’ve only paid a silly after-market high price for one 90 so far, for a grail-y design that I just didn’t think I was going to do much better on. If I paid such a number again, I was thinking ELeK was a design worth doing it for, but you make such a good point here that I am pretty much convinced. Thank you for bringing this up!!!
Thank you so much for adding these!!! I did move on from this 90 for awhile, but I actually do still think about it - I got the chance to try it on while on travel over the summer.

Oh you’re so right!!! That was totally a hot topic that season. Somehow I couldn’t resist when I saw duo in person. Duo and Elek are two scarves you can just throw on without thinking too much about it.
