Hi, I’ve read through this thread and have narrowed it down to Bolduc or Noeud - which one should I get as my first scarf ring? I’m a novice scarf wearer, and have 90s and giant triangles in my collection. Thanks in advance for your advice.

The Bolduc is a classic and versatile ring for 90s. You should be able to use this in a variety of styles. The Noeud might work a little better for GTs; from what I've seen, I think it holds a little more volume?

The design of the Noeud means you can orient it differently to get wider or smaller spaces to pass the silk through and can get some more complex knots. The simple ring styles like the Bolduc are enduringly popular because of how easy they are to use though, so what kind of looks you want to create might help you decide. My most used ring by far is a regate, for this reason.

Let us know what you decide!

Hello all, I know that @Nomad has posted the palladium Pegase ring for us and here are a few more photos showing how easily it can work with a 90, for sure, but even it can accommodate a CSGM as well. The palladium is beautiful but it does not photograph well-- too much light bounces off the finish... I have the permabrass coming too and I feel I may prefer it for the greater contrast it will provide. This was the same dilemma I had with the Brides de Gala ring (kept the permabrass only also).

Gorgeous, dear LKB! I got the permabrass ring after some deliberations. The ring somehow reminded me of a clasp some Native American men (men in the South of the US?) wear around their necks (I don't know what that called in proper English - with strings hanging out), and I wasn't sure if the ring would be too masculine for my taste (lol:smile: i know - the first-world problems here:smile: But I LOVE how you styled it.. Looking forward to receiving mine!!! and gorgeous Dressage CSGM!

Thank you dear @Ashanti_Rose! I think the ring is not masculine when you see the etching on it, which makes it appear more delicate. I believe the ties you mean are "bolo ties"-- a thin black strap of leather or cord that is secured with an ornamental clasp at the neck. I actually just saw some Prada ones!!!!! But I associate them with turquoise jewelry and Native American/cowboy style as well. The challenge with the Pegase is that it only really works upright because of the position of the bar at the back...hmmm a scarf tie engineering challenge! (which is like catnip to me)

Interesting, this gives me something to think about for my csgms, which I typically just throw on however they land. It looks quite stunning with the ring. I’m also glad I ordered that Dressage Tressage before it disappeared from the site. I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not I need it and finally decided to go for it last week.

Fabulous and giggling over the catnip analogy. When I ordered only the palladium was available which made it a quicker decision that I am now double-guessing 😂

Yes!!! Yes it is, thank you @rmsworld -- one of my prize collecting coups was getting all four of the De Passage designs. I adore this one. I like it with the ring in Palladium very much IRL. But the photos don't do justice. My DH says I should keep both rings because why not have more scarf jewelry?

 Wait until you see it and pair it with some silks, @Maedi. I have the permabrass Brides de Gaa and was thinking this would be a nice alternative. But I am away from home so not the best decision making situation...

Thank you @PoliticalGal-- I am a huge throw-and-go also because I have small grandchildren and mainly the shawls are the thing that make me look marginally presentable over yoga pants and sweaters on busy days! But I do like to also add some bling with the rings... I am also delighted that you will be Dressage twins-- I have another cw and adore that one but this dark cw also sparks joy--- somehow it gives me a little Samouraïs vibe depending on the fold. The photo below is just a triangle bias with ends threaded through the ring.

Looks perfect on both scarves! And so glad to hear it got onto a CSGM. That makes the purchase more justifiable ;) . I was definitely being very gentle with the new crisp silk 90 as wasn’t sure keeping.

What scarf ring do you suggest for a 70? I am just getting into 70s and would love to find a good classic scarf ring. My store doesn’t seem to have any.

I'd keep the scarf ring's weight in mind due to most 70s being flat silk and finer in the hand (than twills). I'd also keep it simple.

That said, I use Mors Fillet with 70s most often. They are a very good combo, you can get really creative, formal and neat or casual and natural just depending on the knotting.
