That's exactly what goes through my mind when I see some of the treasures that folks here display. I'd say about a third of my H scarves were purchased after seeing another tpfer's mod shot. My mind freezes and goes: "I gotta find that design or something in that cw!"

That is perfectly lovely! Is it a mousse?Look what came in the mail today -- just in time for Pastel Week!
Face Au Large -- figureheads on the prows of ships by Dominik Jarlegant, who also designed my turtle scarf, De Madras a Zykanthos. This is one of the softest, drapiest scarves ever!

So....these are regular 90 cm in something like the vintage silk 70s? Is there a list anywhere of these type of scarves? I MUCH prefer drapey to all stiff and hard!!It's a silk, not a mousse -- Face Au Large was issued in 2000, and I also have Voyage en Long Cours by Jarlegant issued in 2001. Both are equally soft and delightful -- I'm quite capable of buying a scarf based on it's "hand" and these are marvelous!

The H mystery that keeps reeling us in! Thank you for taking timeNo, the 90cm carres are typically twill, sometimes mousseline, or cashmere/silk. The "vintage silk" was special for the 70 carres (soon to be "rested" and not available). The amount of sizing or "finish" put into a 90 twill varies -- some years the scarves are quite stiff and other years they're softer and drape better. With wear, the twills do become softer, but you may not want to wear them enough to get to that stage. If a scarf is very stiff, you can wash some of the sizing out and make it softer. I've done that for a couple of scarves that I thought were just too stiff and they came out fine. I'm not aware of a list that tells what years provide softer scarves -- it may depend on the dyes or the silk itself. All part of the H mystery!
