8 May 2016 [Mothers Day] FLOWERS, FLOWERS, FLOWERS!

Today’s the day we honor Mothers,
But if you’re not one, then honor others –
The theme this week is simply FLOWERS
Enjoy and wear them, hours and hours.

Hermês loves roses, daisies too –
Orchids, lilies, pink or blue,
Common flowers or buds so rare,
Lots of flowers or here and there.

Bring yours out and show us how
You wear your flowers – the time is now!

Thanks for the intro- love the second scarf!

So many beauties Croisette!

Alas, I'm not on theme; I was spending time with my daughter here in the Barbican and I chose something to reflect the architecture rather than our gardens: I'm really bad at modelling but it's the pleated version of Astrologie

Of course, love the blues!

Wore Jeux de Paille out for lunch with the moms....and you can see I've been thinking very hard about one of our upcoming themes....

Great outfit! You have been picking up the moussies!

Wearing my Mother's Day present from last year...Chemin des Secrets...somewhat on theme with a lot of both flora and fauna! Happy Mother's Day silky friends!

Thank you Bova! And this looks fab on you! Also love your ring stack and your Hapi!

Great outfit! You have been picking up the moussies!

Thank you scarf1! Yes- I'm fairly smitten. Selling off other scarves to replace with mousse to keep the balance...good times....

That's a beauty, scarf1! Every time I see it on someone I like it more, even though I don't usually wear yellow.

I really like the yellow border cordeliere, but regardless it really looks great the way you have it tied in the photo!

Thanks for this great post azalie!

I love this CW on you scarf1...so cheery!

Thanks for another wonderful intro abq2atl :smile1:

What a beautiful scarf bouquet of flowers you have there croisette!

It's lovely on you scarf1. You balanced out the yellow really well and it works well with the jacket! Very complimentary!

Thanks all!

Lovely, bunnycat! I've been mooning over Jeux de Paille for years, but always wanted to see how it tied. You've supplied the answer: gorgeously! (And such a nifty playful combination with the starry top.) Here's hoping you and the moms had a splendid lunch!

Great flowers , Croisette the first pink one is especially lovely.

My Grail Mousseline - Dahlia

That's such a great mousseline, is it based on a photograph?

Stunning on you Bova

Such a perfect scarf for the day, Bova -- happy memories, flowers, and hearts (hearts upside down at the very tips). I think you should encourage your crew to make giving you an H scarf into an annual tradition. :graucho:

Flowers- love them!
Here is pays oiseux fleurs, a departure for me because of all the yellow.

Just the best yellow scarf ever, I love this on you.

On last weeks theme, another Legende Kuna Peuple de Panama.

I want to share some thoughts on this scarf. I am a newbie in the silk world. This scarf was in my top 5 most desired. When it came, it surprised me. It is pink, purple, and blue, so how could it be any better?

.
So pretty the way you've styled it , i'd be interested to see other ties showing a bit of the border .It's such a great colour way.

Happy Mother's Day, all!
)

Beautiful in Fleurs Indiennes Azalie, I love that necklace knot you've shown us.

Well first of all, the blue is much more neon that it appears in any pic I have seen or is captured in my pic. It is not pastel. Second, the contrast border is MUCH more challenging than I expected. My tying skills are non existent, but I did figure out how to display the part I love (the pink square) by positioning it off center and hiding the challenging border inside my top. But needless to say, I am looking forward to the October 2 theme "HIDE THAT BORDER: knots that hide borders and/or emphasize scarf centers".

Thanks for letting me share. I would have like to have known the challenges of this color way before buying, so maybe this info will help someone else.

Thank you for sharing this! I too am a newbie, and it can be very disconcerting to open it up and find the scarf both familiar and unfamiliar. I'm glad to hear that it's not just me :smile1:

I think you did an amazing job of presenting the things you wanted to present, whilst obscuring the bits you didn't; I shall certainly look forward to a seminar on artful presentation but I think you're way ahead of me now and certainly deserve some virtual flowers:

:flowers:

Happy Mother's Day dear silkies! Beautiful scarves one and all.

I am traveling yet again 🙄. But here's my Mother's Day gift from last year, on theme: Bateau Fleuri.

Bova, bunnycat, scarf1 you all look great. Happy Mother's Day.

Thank you PbP!

This one surprised me, Azalie. I "settled" on it because I wanted a romantic scarf but turns out I adore this one. Seen several blues, then somehow stumbled on to red in my searches. I really wanted a striped red and white top, but the ones I tried have all looked really silly on me. Saw the stars and knew it was perfect! Hubz was a disbeliever til I took it out of the bag! (ETA- Lunch was great! The quarterly fried dill pickle run!)

Love your black Axis Mundi.

Thank you frou frou! I will admit, the first time I put on a moussie it was like saying hi to an old friend.

Happy Moms Day to all the moms! :flowers: :flowers:

Oh, ABQ, this CW of axis mundi is really gorgeous. Mine in peach. I never even realized there are flowers on it! LOL. Different CWs always bring out something unexpected.

Thanks, moma -- I'm a sucker for Four Season scarves, pictures, plates.... you name it! (Though I still haven't found my ideal cw for the Dallet design)
