My go to knots the majority of the time with my CSGM's. The second picture is really just a slight variation on the first look. Trying today with my new Boulevards that I am still contemplating on whether to keep or not...at the suggestion at the lovely lanit, I am going to try it this week with various colored tops as opposed to my usual black. I will add that I do like the strong contrast of the shawl with my black tops as well. (my post on this subject/shawl are on the ode to CSGM thread :smile1:)
I really love how you tied this in your first picture. I hope you keep it - I think it looks great on you!

One of my go-to knots is the asymmetrical tie. I recently got one of MaiTai's tiny scarf rings and I was able to do this tie on a gavroche! Who knew? It's so small it works well on a 70 also, so I played around a bit. Asymmetrical tie with 90 (Cavaliers du Caucase), 70 (J'aime mon carré), and gavroche (ZP):
Love your Cavaliers on you - the colours are so rich and striking!

Oh Bova, please don't think about returning this shawl! So versatile. Looks awesome on the red!!

Fabulous, Bova!

Thank you so much Kyokei, Pirula, BostonJetSet, eternallove4bag, essiedub, scarf1, bunnycat, Croisette7, Bova123, chris83, frou frou, spinkapallina, and CanuckBagLover!

Yes, essiedub, that’s J’aime mon carré in pink.

Maedi and Croisette: the ring is rosewood (petite) from MaiTai. I love the colored lacquered ones also, but don’t have any yet. I have a few in mother of pearl that are really versatile.

Frou frou: interesting that you find the asymmetrical tie less formal. Thank you! Often I feel a bit “old lady” when I wear it with 90s, but I love how it shows a lot of the design.

Spinkapallina: here’s the tutorial http://maitaicollection.com/pages/how-to-asymmetrical-wrap It's so easy!

Sorry this is a day late but today I'm wearing my Minuit au faubourg gavroche. I tried to capture my new loop earrings too.

I never was a scarf person until lurking on this thread and viewing all the beautiful scarfs and mod shots. Thanks for all the inspiration and a little less thanks for thinning my wallet ;)

Parures draped and tied a la Chou Chou.

What I 'tied' on yesterday though raining I had my nylon rain jacket over my jean jacket, over my Tapis Persian as tunic, over a Uniqlo fleece long sleeve top LOL.

Lately though, I've been trying to just relax and channel our dear frou frou and be ever so insouciant. It doesn't always seem to work, but I believe that's a factor of needing to really just relax more. I think these worked:

With this one I actually did not fuss at all at all and looked after first try and thought "Yes; I believe frou frou would approve." And dashed out the door:

That's lovely!

I still struggle with the cowboy knot. Maybe I'm not folding enough fabric back but it always seems so poufy (putting in cardigan may fix this. Hmmmm).

I'm still learning. So while I try many knots, my two go to's are super simple since I'm usually in a hurry in the am and it's always dark.

The standard run through an anneau infinity ring and/or wrapped around my neck with either a tied knot or a ring:

It doesn't get much simpler than this. A cowboy knot tucked into my cardigan. Ciel Byzantine.

Sometimes when the weather’s chilly

Try a knot that’s kind of frilly.

When you’re in the summer heat

Tie scarves looser, not so neat.

Whatever way my scarf is tied,

I like the knot pulled to the side.

But that’s just me—it’s surely true

This style may not be one for you.

17 Jan 2016 GO-TO OR TO-GO KNOTS: the knots you can count on to look great

This week let’s all regard the knot—

Show us the ones you wear a lot.

Got a favorite? Let us see!

(Will your favorite work for me?)

We want the knots you think are easy—

Something fresh and young and breezy.

(How simple is it? For a lark

Tie your carré in the dark.)

Do you have a favorite tie?

I like mine low, not very high—

Can’t stand the feeling of a noose,

To maintain calm, I want it loose.

ARGGGGHHH!

My dear friends, you all look so amazingly beautiful! Love how you tie your scarf! Have a great day!

You can wear twillys and gavroches like no one else bunnycat...wonderful knots!

Very casual-chic croisette, I love this look!

Fantastic pictures momasaurus, and although I use the same knot for 90's and 70's, I have never thought to try with a gavroche, but now I will...thank you!!

Adorable again bunnycat!

Why have any other way to wear your shawls when you look amazing in them just like this eternallove4bag!!

Thank you, dear Bova!

Everyone looks fabulous...bunnycat, Croisette, eternal love momasaurus and Pirula.
