Thank you so much Tango Tosca and bunnycat!

Love that twilly bunnycat. It's so pretty and fun!

Beautiful on you, as always, bunny!

That looks great! I need to go back and study all of the ways you wear twillies. I just bought my first few. It would be a great topic for a thread if there isn't one.

So cute, bunnycat! You look tres chic!

Thank you kindly Pirula, Croisette, PbP and ABQ!

PbP- I think there is going to be a twilly week in the next set of SOTD themes, but I think there are a few Twilly threads. Here's one off the top of my head, but I bet there are others (if I could figure out what to search on). http://forum.purseblog.com/hermes-clubhouse/ode-to-the-twilly-622710.html

Here's one of the others I was thinking of: http://forum.purseblog.com/hermes/show-off-your-twillies-and-tell-how-you-243603.html

Could this be the gavroche flower knot, just done with a 90cm scarf?

Could be! I've done that once with a 90.

I don’t know if it’s a turkey, chicken, peacock, or buzzard, but he’s mighty proud of himself, whatever he is!

And does anybody have a clue why this fowl scarf is named Skyros?

No idea- but it is very cool!

Wearing Collections Imperiales today for the first time. I can't wait for the silk to soften up after a few wears; none of the knots I typically use seem to look right when they are new and crisp to me. I love a nice drape.

He's evidently from Ottoman empire embroidery typical of the Greek island of Skyros:

Hoopoe; detail of embroidered hem of a bridal sheet, from Skyros, a Sporades island. The hoopoe, or rather the cockerel, appears in several versions in neo-Hellenic art and possesses an apotropaic-talismanic symbolism, beyond which lies a wish for fertility but also for the fighting strength that might protect it. Late 18th-early 19th c. (ΓΕ 6381)
Below the embroidery, a modern-day hoopoe:

I am amazed you know this! Truly impressed ABQ2TL

Beautiful, Kyokei! I'm with you -- I don't like too much crispness, and it seems like some scarves just don't soften with wearing. I now have several that I'm going to need to wash in order to get rid of the starchy feel. This is lovely, as is your Tyger Tyger (and oni tat).

Oh yas :okay: Love ex-lib en kimonos! Gorgeous, Pirula!

Thank you!!

That's beautiful Kyokei! What colors!

So with Collections Imperiales, folks here have been saying that it is especially firm and crisp due to metallic dyes or something. Where did I read that experts? In the Fall scarves thread maybe? No idea if it'll soften with time or a quick wash. It's gorgeous though.

Are you warming up for your role as new scarf mistress?

I love reading about the Skyros name ABQ. Thanks for this background. Love the bird photo too.

Before our theme week changes my two CS autumn silks. I don't get to wear the L'Instruction shawl as much as I'd like - but it is one of those amazing colorful silks that I love to tie and fold and especially love the color combinations/ Heliotrope is such a fabulous periwinkle blue on the hem.

Timing the APdP with its peacocks for feathers week!

Hello my Beautiful Friend,

Are you celebrating today as I am?? One week off??

To torture Dear ToscaTango I am wearing my Skyros today with my "wear sweatshirt" to work Friday. How can she be such a hater of this fabulous chicken with a hat on scarf??

I am so jelly sparkle. I looked for the longest time for the magenta one in cashmere stole. This looks fab on you darling.

Hello, my beautiful silkies -- don't forget another Autumn classic:
Belle Chasse, the "sleeping pheasants" scarf (a little grim, but it ties beautifully):

You rock this silk ABQ - though it is hard for me to view flat. It looks amazing tied.

one of my favorite autumnal scarves. Greetings from No. California..
Mythes et Metamorphoses

A terrific AF silk scarf! I need to pull out my red one.

CI never disappoints!!
And that pointu is fabulous with the Madras-style print! How do you find wearing the pointus? I have been intrigued by them for a while but can never pull the trigger since they cost more than a 90 for half the scarf HAHA.

Pointus are great in the madras boston. I has enough body to it that it is interesting.

Thank you Croisette!

Wore Capitales this week and thought it at least hinted at autumn colors.
