I don’t know if it’s a turkey, chicken, peacock, or buzzard, but he’s mighty proud of himself, whatever he is!

Cock of the Walk!

And does anybody have a clue why this fowl scarf is named Skyros?

Hello Darling Friend, I have been waiting for you to whack me :bagslap:!! I think we need to trade cws.

He's evidently from Ottoman empire embroidery typical of the Greek island of Skyros:

Hoopoe; detail of embroidered hem of a bridal sheet, from Skyros, a Sporades island. The hoopoe, or rather the cockerel, appears in several versions in neo-Hellenic art and possesses an apotropaic-talismanic symbolism, beyond which lies a wish for fertility but also for the fighting strength that might protect it. Late 18th-early 19th c. (ΓΕ 6381)
Below the embroidery, a modern-day hoopoe:

Dang Lady, you are amazing. I hope you like the new Silk Mistress tomorrow. She is really a smart cookie too!!!

Wearing Collections Imperiales today for the first time. I can't wait for the silk to soften up after a few wears; none of the knots I typically use seem to look right when they are new and crisp to me. I love a nice drape.

U look gorgeous!!! Kyokei these colors look amazing on u my dear[emoji7][emoji173]️

Before our theme week changes my two CS autumn silks. I don't get to wear the L'Instruction shawl as much as I'd like - but it is one of those amazing colorful silks that I love to tie and fold and especially love the color combinations/ Heliotrope is such a fabulous periwinkle blue on the hem.

Timing the APdP with its peacocks for feathers week!

U r one GORGEOUS lady lanit!!! These r so fabulous on u!!![emoji7][emoji7]

Both are very pretty, lanit -- you always look so nice! Clever to get the jump on Feathers week with APdP, too!

Thank you! I was debating between this and one other CW so you are all giving me confidence I made the right choice.

Lovely! This is a great cw!

Thanks! CI has so many great CWs, doesn't it?

Thank you!!

That's beautiful Kyokei! What colors!

So with Collections Imperiales, folks here have been saying that it is especially firm and crisp due to metallic dyes or something. Where did I read that experts? In the Fall scarves thread maybe? No idea if it'll soften with time or a quick wash. It's gorgeous though.

Thanks for the heads up! It feels a little less stiff after wearing it all day, but still a lot crisper than my others. I wonder if it will soften a little more with wear. If not, I'll stay away from very drapey knots on this one and go for more structured ones.

Beautiful, Kyokei! I'm with you -- I don't like too much crispness, and it seems like some scarves just don't soften with wearing. I now have several that I'm going to need to wash in order to get rid of the starchy feel. This is lovely, as is your Tyger Tyger (and oni tat).

Thank you! I wonder if most people prefer the crisp ones? Personally, I love a soft and drapey one, but this design was too perfect to resist. The one I tried on in the store was a little less crisp, so I have some hope it will soften up even just a bit with wear.

You pull of that orange and periwinkle CW so well. I'm envious! It looks great on you.

Mom’s preparation skills are deft --
Once we’ve dined, here’s all that’s left:
(No, that’s not all—see bones piled high,
And people stuffed with pumpkin pie.)

But our topic’s not confined to turkey--
Feathers on boys are always perky!

And Hermes has some tricks, of course—
Why, they’ll put feathers on a horse!
So to your scarf drawers, Silkies all—
It’s Feathers Week, let’s have a ball!

Greetings, dear Silkies, from your new Scarf Mistress :cutesy:

Maedi gets the prize for guessing first,:queen: but I think Scarf1 had gotten the idea by yesterday.

I want to send special thanks to my partners in organization -- Sparklelisab and Tango Tosca -- who held my hand through the weeks of planning our new Scarf Year. :chatty: :ghi5:

I think we're all going to have a really good time, so here's to us! Let the silky games begin!
