This looks so pretty and makes everything so complete.

Many thanks Pursey , this gavroche goes with everything.

You look stunning: The way you tied your gavroche, the combination of clothing, scarf and lipstick, very fresh and adorable :sunshine:
:

Honeylocks That's so sweet of you to say , I need to write down a few combos, when I'm rushing [always!] I can't seem to get it right and usually leave out a scarf.

Lovely on you, frou frou!
!

Thanks dear Croisette .

I finally can contribute to jewellery-week as well. Since it is getting too hot to wear a silk scarf I started doing scarf-necklaces. Playing around I came up with something new, nothing for the faint of heart: I made a neat bias fold and then used my fingers to crochet the scarf. Fixed at the neck with mors. See pics:

Honeylocks!!! You crotcheted a scarf, that's simply amazingly clever ! Never got the hang of that technique, you must have used a big hook!
The result is so lovely , especially in that gloriously coloured Jardins d'Andalousie.

Good day! I received these rings (come from Vietnam) and tried on with the scarfs I have. I need more scarfs :p Thanks for looking. View attachment 3031222View attachment 3031223

Wow Pursey I didn't know these were being sold from Vietnam, they look identical to those sold by the famous lady .
The golden scarf looks spectacular with your new ring , love that colour.

Just a general remark on braided and knotted scarf necklaces , they work so well with the busy bright scarves don't they? I always used to wear my searingly orange Napoleon like that and now see a need for acquiring more brights for just that purpose :D

Hello scarfies! Just in the nick of time I have a jewelry scarves post, featuring two dear TPF friends, Chestnutty and Arabesques. It's a long one. :smile1:

Last week my long-time SO and I finally tied the knot, and what better occasion than to tie some scarf knots as well? I've never wanted a wedding proper, so we decided to keep it simple with a city hall ceremony in NYC. Arabesques and a friend I've known since we were 9 years old were our official witnesses.

But not just witnesses! Multi-talented, highly artistic witnesses. My childhood friend, an architect, has a gift for structuring any material she lays hands on, and surprised me with a gorgeous bouquet of her own making. Arabesques, as anyone who has seen her posts here or her blog knows, is an exceptional photographer, and she made sure I had the most beautiful pictures with which to remember the day.

My two friends' artistry was all the more remarkable considering the short notice they had: on Friday the week before last we decided to get married the following Wednesday-- no, no shotgun wielded by my father; just the complications of an international long-distance romance! On Friday I had no idea what I was going to wear, but I knew a white mousseline Au Portes du Palais I had bought might arrive just in the nick of time... but then again, it might not. I mentioned this to Chestnutty-- whose own white APdP had fueled my search for one-- and she instantly offered not only to send me her own beloved white moussie, but also her heavenly white, pale blue, and light grey Doigts de Fee-- a wedding scarf if ever there were one, with its pearls and lace motif. I demurred on her unbelievably generous offer to lend her APdP, because I knew I'd be thrilled to wear the Doigts. She raced to the post and got it on its way immediately-- outstanding scarf emergency response time! I set about choosing an outfit that would work with the Doigts and chose a white Alexander McQueen coat dress (inspired in part by a recent trip to the London exhibition of his work, with another fabulous TPF friend).

The Doigts arrived in the mail. Then the APDP landed too! And then my fiancé gave me a beautiful pair of red patent stilettos to match the Rouge Vif Kelly he gave me as a 30th birthday present years ago. The red picked up the colors in the APdP perfectly.... but I couldn't forget the feminine beauty of that Doigts, and its being a "something borrowed" from someone special. So I did what any sensible scarfie would do: I resolved to wear BOTH. :groucho:

In the morning/early afternoon, it was the APdP. And then in the evening, it was the Doigts with a pale pink and silver Sita Murt dress. The pink, pale blue, silver and grey made me feel very princess-y.

So, without further ado, two very special scarves that are both from Chestnutty whether directly or by her influence, and some photographs from the amazing Arabesques showing the evolution of the look over the day. The APdP went from tucked in to flying in the wind and then transformed into the Doigts draped to try to show as much of its pearls and lace as possible. And, just for good measure, a picture of the groom showing off his Hermes shoes but more significantly an important Hermes scarf skill: waiting in the boutique for Arabesques and me while we browsed in between visits to champagne bars!

Whew, thanks for letting me share. I'm so lucky to know so many of you around the world, and this day made me extra-grateful for that! :flowers:View attachment 3030567View attachment 3030568View attachment 3030569View attachment 3030570View attachment 3030571

:woohoo:

What fabulous news!

This is a SOTD special, and that beautiful scarf will be special for all time from now on.

BTW, you look beyond wonderful, exquisite and chic. The AMQ was an inspired choice and with your accessories, you look totally YOU. Nothing could improve, sheer perfection.

Congratulations, magnitude magnifica to you and you now DH

Purrsey - very nice job with the scarf rings. They are so handy, aren't they? I love your three different knots.

calexandre - just speechless with delight to read your post, after drooling and then sobbing over arabesques blog entry. What a perfect and fabulous day, the very definition of romantic!:heart::heart: So happy for you both!

Thank you sharing your beautiful and SPECIAL last minute wedding with the Hermes silk lovers here. Congratulations!!

This is my favorite thread that I am visiting every week admiring scarves and modeling pictures. I am not contributing as often as I would like to. Here is, however, a picture for this week's theme. My first and only Maxi Twilly Carré en Carrés. Mostly I wear it around my neck and sometimes around the head protecting my ears and coiffure! from chilly winds :smile1:

Oh I saw that maxi twilly and even didn't think about buying it, but now that I saw your picture, I am in love.

Takk for bilden!

Good morning Beautiful People, Beautiful Silkies,

I see I have missed some excitement the last four days and can't wait to go back and read about nuptials and love and friendship--what is better?

But let me introduce one of my favorite weeks. Last week, many Silkies blessed the screen with pics of their beloved fur babies and this week, we get to see some on silk--and maybe some more "family members" as well.

People and Animals in Motion on Silk!! Silk. People. Fur Babies--bring it on!

If you have been around for awhile you have seen my menagerie so I do not want to repeat much. One of my fav scarves is Metamorphosis because of the cows, reindeer, squirrels, beavers, birds, monkeys, owls, dogs, cats and more on it. What fun!

Here is Tracy, one of my favorite Texas Long Horns. She is a pet and every time I look at the cow on the corner of my Metamorphosis, I think of her.
