Dear scarfies and other people,

since this ist my favourite thread I will use it to introduce myself:

"Hello, my name is Honeylocks and I am a scarf addict"
It all started around 2006 when I saw "Beloved India" in a shop window (not a hermes shop). I was drawn to it, saw the price tag and moved on.
Last winter I watched "25 was to tie a scarf" on youtube, which led me to MaiTai.
Some weeks later I had the chance to go to an Hermes-store. Was unprepared and asked for a design from 2 years ago, the SA just frowned at me :-(
By now, I got what I wanted in retail from the internet (always an adventure, learned about import taxes and how to spot fakes) and some new ones (via shop and hermes.com). Oh yes, the slippery orange slope......

I love the art, the colours, the texture of the silk on my skin, the versatility and playfulness, all the ways to wear them. They pimp everyday things so easily.:p

I was reading through many threads in the past months, besides this my favourite ones are Hermes with cheap outfits and Tango Tostca's scarf circus. You are all such an inspiration here, I love to see your pictures and appreciate the kind atmosphere in this forum.

So let me share my piece of bright: Bateau Fleuri in green and blue with fishies and birdies.

And I know I am late for Julie Abadie-week, but I tried to braid Ciels Byzantines into my hair.

Welcome, Honeylocks - 'my sister scarf addict'! I loved reading your post! I remember when I first started learning and becoming interested in Hermes silks. I learned so much from the wonderful Tango Tosca's thread and well, MaiTai is truly the scarf master. She made me fall in love with scarves and allowed me to appreciate them in a way that I had never thought possible. I have the same gavroche as your Bateau Fleuri and it is without a doubt a favorite of mine! The colors and whimsy are so special. It looks fabulous on you! You are so creative with your CB tied into your braid. Love that! We are sisters on this silk too. We must have very similar design tastes! Looking forward to many more pictures from you here!:smile1:

Hello may i post a H scarf question?

I see some seller's description of the preloved H scarf as "crisp". Does crisp equate to pristine? Or just how is a H silk scarf crisp or not? Tia.

My dear Scarfies, not only do I like bright scarves, but I love bright clothing and shoes too!:sunshine: The brighter the better!! My logic is 'if the scarf isn't already bright enough, add a bright shirt to the mix!' Wearing my matching JP pants today and Voyage en Etoffes.

Thank you my dears!

Welcome honeylocks! I'm new too. Silly SA to frown at you, but hey that's how we learn. We're sisters on the Bateau Fleuri, but not twins, I have the gray/black colorway. It is truly a beautiful scarf. Love it in your colorway! And what an awesome original idea to tie your scarf into a braid. How clever you are!

So I am wearing a non-Hermes scarf today :police::police::police::police: call the cops. It's a lovely peach chiffon with flowers and butterflies that a dear friend brought back from Italy for me. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a thread modeling any special scarves we have that are not Hermes? For example I have a fabulous Carolina Herrera "Zodiac" that's just sublime. Could be fun. If you agree I'll start one. If not then that's okay too!

PS: Hmmm...clearly my multi-quoting skills aren't as up to par as I thought. Sigh....

A few more brights to share:

Voyage en Etoffes
Les Jeux d' Hermes
Graff Twilly modeled by my adorable assistant :smile1:.

Oh my goodness, I am in awe of your collection, Croisette! My favorite is the the Peuple du Vents, but they are all beauties.

I hope to jump in and start posting some pictures soon. I absolutely HATE my neck (hence my love of scarves, lol), so I'm having a hard time getting any flattering (or at least not terrible) shots. Also, this forum has inspired me to record my colorways. I tend to just tear off the tags and not look back, but now I wish I could share the "proper" colors instead of saying, "My red this," or "My blue that." I will definitely be more careful with future purchases.
