19 November 2017 KERMIT OLIVER or FEATHER scarves in honor of KO’s big turkey
I overlapped last week and this one with Belle Chasse and Gibiers, which are both feathered and autumnal, but let's not forget the Big American Bird that occupies the center of Faune et Flora du Texas. (My cw is actually gray in the center, not blue--I like it because the cacti around the turkey are shades of pink and peach.)

Croisette7 these are all just flat out gorgeous. I had to pick my chin up from the floor over that Plumes.

Such a beautiful collection! I especially love LDdI. Would love to see it tied. We are twins on that cw of Flamingo Party. As a Florida resident it was a must for me. You wear it well!

Love that adorable twilly!
You look (as always) utterly glamourous in whites and jewel tones!

Many thanks fifi and xincinsin! I will try to take a model photo of LdDI for you dear! Your heye n3 is amazing fifi!

Wonderful collection of K.O. scarves, lanit... thank you for sharing.
I never knew K.S. did a King Ranch design. But this is definitely one I need! Back in my "serious" birdwatching days, DH and I spent 3 weeks on a wonderful guided birdwatching tour in Texas . We spent an entire day there and saw some incredible birds.
If you have time, I would love to see this one opened up. :flowers:

Not a Kermit Oliver but feathered nonetheless. Just received today. This is one of those purchases that was just meant to be - Fleurs d'Ecosse by Sylvia Kerr. Firstly, it is the same base colours as my husband's tartan. Secondly, I love Scottish history. Thirdly, it goes perfectly with my victorian stone brooch (these were originally purchased in the 1800s and 1900s by tourists to Scotland) and newer luckenbooth brooch which I bought last year (see pic below). Luckenbooths were once used as a talisman against witchcraft and my gggg-grandfather was a warlock in the Highlands so, again, the scarf speaks to me on another level. Finally, the circular layouts are reminiscent of old Scottish targes, or shields, used by the Highlanders in battle so again reminding me of my more northern roots. All in all a very meaningful scarf to me and one I am delighted to own. Got it at a great price too, which always puts a smile on my face!
I haven't seen this scarf on here since I joined and was wondering if anybody has any of the other cws? The tartan is perfect for autumn! One of the pics shows the traditional feathered brooches that were made with silver and Scottish bird feathers. You could get them made with rabbit feet too but thankfully H didn't use them in this design!

Beautiful scarf, and interesting historical information! I have been tempted but not pulled the trigger for a red and blue CW, solely based on my love for Scotland and the islands in particular :-)
