Thank you CBL! Speaking of western themed scarves, there is one with cow-girls that we need to look for too. If anybody has one, please post a pic! Or if you know the year and artist please post.

Are you thinking of Rodeo de CowGirls by Kermit Oliver? That is the only one I know of. I think saw one come for sale on ebay over the past year and kicking myself for not trying to get it. It is another one on my wish list.

Pardon the ode to Mr. Dallet while I post the opposite of arabesques lovely exotic beach scene and get the holiday silks out. It is the only time I get to bring these beauties out to play.

Passage d' Moscou with my cozy shearling vest (no animals were harmed in its making). Loving that Chou chou knot!

Beautiful Passage d'Moscou, I love the silvery colours with the white - perfect for winter and the holidays, You wear it beautifully. :smile1:

Yes! Thank you for supplying the name - I googled and that's it! The ones I am seeing are all in cotton. Do you know if it only come in cotton, or was there a silk version also?

I don't know. I checked the HCSI database (such an invaluable resource!) which has 3 pictures - two don't indicate whether it is silk or cotton; one picture indicates that it is a GM mousseline. I'm not positive but I think the one on Ebay I awhile back was a mousseline. And just as I was about to hit "send" on this message I checked Luxury-Scarves (another great source too) - no pictures but this is what LS says:

Rodeo des Cowgirls ,Le by Kermit Oliver
Firstissue: 2001
Resissues: 2009
Additional infos: 2001: Issued in 90cm moussline.
2005: Issued in 140cm cashmere/silk.
2009: Issued in 70cm cotton

Hope this helps! Would love to see pictures too of this scarf in anyone has one!

re: Rodeo Cowgirls - it was done in cotton 70 twice, once in old cotton and once in cotton viole with charm. And once in mous 140. It was NEVER done in CSGM.

Croisette - another stellar entry. You must have been chomping at the bit to post all weekend! :smile1:

But, you still must see what I had planned---please humor me.

We are creatures of different sorts. Some Scarfies love creases from box folds, others like soft-hand draping of their silk. Some love contrast, some love monochromatic, small patterns, large patterns, and on and on….such diversity amongst the Silkies.
This week celebrates our loves and ideas about what comes first—the design or the color?

My views on this subject are strong: I have never bought a scarf because “it ties well.” Never. No matter what, I must love the design first.

Let’s hear your thoughts and see your favorite scarf design or collection of color or hey, whatever you are wearing!!
For those who celebrate this week, have a blessed vacation with family and friends.

This scarf is an example of a beautifully tying scarf and the colors make me fall to my knees, but the design, while interesting, could never get me to buy it. I love it on others though, but nope.
