Yes... ahem... well, I am paying very careful attention, birkinmary! And now I'm on the hunt for La Comedie Italienne. Very difficult to find, very expensive when I do find it. I understand why: it is an old scarf, it is jacquard, and it is stunning.

I have noticed that this scarf was produced in a variety of ways. The style I'm drawn to has the white background, but the little figures, instruments, and buildings are "filled in" with color, rather than simply outlined in black or gold. I don't know whether this is a function of the year of issue, or simply the type of CW, but this is the style I like.

I suspect I will be hunting for quite some time... this is now a HG scarf for me, and I do not want to compromise!
Here you go. Btw La Comedie Italienne doesn't often go for premium. Often $450 of less for decent condition at least. There's at least one on EU ebay in any given month.

I think this CW of Bal des O is autumnal:, burgundy, mossy green, navy

A less conventional choice is this CW of Au Coeur de la Vie. Especially when worn with brown :

Ok my final post, with some photos to show that you can even find fall colors in Hawaii:

The birdies are definitely autumnal, scarf1. And I love the thought of pairing Au Coeur de la Vie with a brown sweater. I think it would be a smashing look.

Thank you for the Hawaii photos! DH and I were talking about our trip to Kauai just the other day (I mean, we were talking just the other day, silly! We're still here on the Central Coast!:p) We were remember how much we enjoyed snorkeling right off the beach.

I am late again to theme week but don't think anybody has posted these. Two of my favorite LeDoux designs: Attelage en Arbalete and Ecuries. I think Ecuries is from 1947 - it seems so modern to me - a testimony to a timeless design.:smile1:
Ecuries is on my Wish List, maedi... it is my birth year! And yes, it is definitely from 1947. :winkiss: I hadn't realized it was a Ledoux design, though.

And my first and favorite CSGM - Sur un Tapis Volante. It's too bad the colors washed out with the flash because it is richer than depicted in the photo.

Fabulous, fabulouser, and fabulousest, florasun! I've always found Kermit Oliver's take on Concourse d'Elegance to be such an interesting scarf, because they hold the actual "Concourse d'Elegance" just down the street from me, in Pebble Beach! (It looks nothing like the image on the scarf, though!;))

More magic, croisette! Especially the incredible CW of Tapis. I have seen (and drooled over!) many, many pictures of Tapis, but I have never seen this one before. Just heavenly!

I love the fall foliage when there is still lots of green to set off the orange and red. Here's my front yard, and my Instruction du Roy. I even put on lipstick for you all (you know I am lazy about that!) :smile1:
Thank you for the foliage photo, moma, and your model shot. Instruction du Roy looks elegant against your pine-green sweater.

My Japanese Maple is turning that exact color, scarf1! (And it's dropping its leaves all over my front yard, too. Grrrr...

Love the colorway of your MetM. It's just perfect for you.

Aloha!
Thanks!

Actually that Japanese maple has those red leaves all the time . Well except for when they drop off.

love the ginko. It turns bright yellow and then a ll the leaves drop in just a week or so, making a beautiful yellow carpet.

Here is my contribution - inspired by others. ZP (which I'ven known has been shown before) and a picture of a tree across the street viewed from my bedroom window. I've tried to capture the yellow/golds of the leaves and the scarf. I love these old trees. Sadly in my area of town there aren't many and we lost several to a new condo development up the street, New spindly trees have been replanted but I doubt they will ever fully mature (but I digress)...
How did I miss this CW of Zebra Pegasus, canuck? It is simply splendid! And a perfect match to the tree outside your window!
