It's yellow-green-white day at my kids' school! Since I don't have a green scarf or even shirt, I had to pull out my only yellow scarf, which contains also green and white. It seems weird with this summery sun, but the color is really nice.
It's beautiful, melora! Fabulous colors. And you knotted it so well. Did you fold it on the rectangle before making a criss-cross knot through the scarf ring?

Why, may I ask, is it yellow-green-white day????? (Or is that a silly question?)

Frou, marietouchet, textilegirl - I loved today's spotlight on Proues. I have a whole new appreciation for this lovely scarf. :smile1:

Dear fast-walking gourmet grocery shopper - TY for brightening my day with your Texas GM

Team silk - I have been eager to share a new find with y'all. I'm hopelessly off theme today and am having an even harder time with headless selfies. Some days they are easy and other days, impossible. C'est la vie. So I'm an admitted Astrologie nouvelle junkie (have two 140cms and have been hunting a 90 cm forever). It takes a lot of restraint not to bid on the perforated ones I see all the time. So I snagged one that I felt had a casual cw vibe and TBH, my orange Pico was demanding it also. The orange in the scarf is more of a burnt orange, but that's ok close enough! Ever since my stinky kelly went back to her homeland, I have been carrying my picos around a lot! So here she is with some mod shots. As you can see, I'm still playing around with modified cowboy knots. I'm determined to come up with a few more! Which one looks better? The smaller gold ring or larger silver one? Thanks for reading my silky tale.

Thank you Elaine for all your nice words. The Potager is a 90 twill and doesn't exist in GM size so far.
Hmmmm... now I'm rethinking Potager. I only own one scarf with yellow in it, Libres Comme l'Air, a mix of yellow and orange ...

... but nowhere as yellow as your Potager, croisette.

Oh, dear. The Wish List keeps growing!

Elaine, I have recently posted 3 twill cw which I own and may help you for a decision

Each more beautiful than the next, croisette! Thank you so much for posting them. The SA I spoke to on the phone said the pastels are difficult to keep in stock; the brighter colors do not sell as quickly.

But your brightly-colored ones are fabulous! I may have to re-think my ideas!

Elaine Love, love Feux d'Artifice my little yellow gavroche is a dream to tie and perk up a shirt .I think it's a underrated design , very special. Is yours jacquard?
We must be the opposite of one another in colouring if not in scarf choices !
I'm good to wear orange, and red so long as it is true red not too much towards bluish red.
Your f d'A would be a no-no for me as the combo of this red +white+ blue is tragic on my sallow skin . My worst ever scarf buy was a Tour de Cles in this very mix , a design in 70 cm I adore, but it made me look exhausted .
Vive Napoleon ! As a Brit I shouldn't say that , but DH is French so it's OK :D

Yes indeed, frou frou! You and I are "color opposites!"

When I wear orange, or even coral, I turn all orange-y. It is not a pretty sight!:p But when I wear a blue-red, I do not even have to wear blusher... the color brightens my whole face (even at my age!). I have very fair skin, with a bit of pink in it, blue eyes, and my hair is brown and grey (and getting greyer, LOL!). Still, blue-red continues to be a good color for me.

Vive Napoléon, indeed! I am excited to receive my new-to-me purchase, and especially to see the little jacquard bees. Even though "Ledoux week" will be past, I'm sure everyone will forgive me if I post a model picture next week when (fingers crossed!) the scarf arrives.:smile1:

Croisette The design is stunning and you've chosen two of my favourite c'ways , the bronze/orange and the gorgeous green.
Can't wear the design , I feel I disappear when I put it on which is not allowed . However , should I have suited it these would have been my choice .
Elaine , you are on a green roll , no?
I am on a green roll? No, I don't believe so. My previous purchase was Point d'Orgue (it's all melora's fault, LOL!) The CW is Aubergine, Rose, Prune. There's a bit of green in it, but it's just here and there.

Though I could certainly use a bit of "green" (dollars, that is!) to support my scarf habit!

My kids are in a private school in America, where they have to wear uniform (no uniform in France, so it's a big change!).
This week is "red ribbon week" for celebrating a drug-free life (I feel like an ad...), and kids get to not wear uniform! They had to dress in red or pink on Monday, and in white yellow or green yesterday. Thursday is pajama day (!!!) and Friday they wear their Halloween costumes.

I don't plan to go to school in my pajamas and an H scarf ;)

This is probably a very wise decision, Melora.

Oh, dear. You must think all of us Californians are out of our minds! I can assure you, up here on the Central Coast, we do NOT have "pajama day" in the schools!:p

Reprise in brown ivory and scarlet

Frou Frou - you are a classic beauty! You wear the scarves so well, and I'm sure am a real head turner when you walk down the street. I would swivel my neck.

PROUES IN ACTION

I collected these photos some years ago from Ebay... , I love how Proues looks in them very geometric

My own personal Proues is probably the most colorful cw of this design

Hard to tell but the corners are purple, while border is indigo

MarieTouchet - stop it! you are going to make me start hunting this Proues. I've always shied away from the classic designs because I'm more of a modern gal, but your observation about the geometric design is spot on. So this one might be the best of both worlds for me.

Also Nefs d Or 1970s by Ledoux

The boats were made of gold or porcelain, there are some of the objets d art at the Getty museum in LA or the Frick in NY

How have I missed this at the Getty and Frick? I will look more closely at the boats next time I'm in both places.

2 contributions for the Ledoux week

Croisette - your pics are pure eye candy! I jump from your CDC, to your rings, your shawls, your jackets. Perfection. I'm so glad you started posting so many pics recently. Thank you!

This is an old Proues for Ledoux week; the scarf is deliciously supple, and unlike a newer 90cm which can be really bulky, it ties up around the neck with minimal excess fabric. I suppose that's an argument for wearing the heck out of our scarves, then they will be drape-y and soft like butter! Kinda messy, but it was a dream around my neck....

I totally know what you mean about how some scarves will tie around the neck and not make you look like you suffered a neck injury while others do the opposite. go figure. you look ready for east coast weather!
