I am jealous ElainePG! This is beautiful. I am consistently tempted to purchase this design. I think you can definitely style with neutrals, especially grey to highlight the grey portions of the scarf. Even what looks like a small amount of blue in the scarf would be a fun way to draw the eye away from the green/red look. I have to say that after seeing froufrou's photo with her Napoleon scarf, that even though her's has red and green I believe, it does not look "Christmas-y". So enjoy and have fun with such a great design!!;)

Playing up the blue is a great suggestion, bova... thank you!:smile1: And of course you're right that there's quite a bit of grey in it' I can make a lot of use of that, too.

Finally back home to play with my scarves.

I know I added a few ages by wearing a scarf this way, but gosh the scarf is too pretty to tie away in bias...

Isn't she so pretty?

I love the way you tied it, chestnutty; you're right, the one problem with the bias fold is that so much of the gorgeous pattern is hidden away. This CW is splendid in its neutral tones.

I LOVE these earrings Elaine! What a perfect jewelry birthday gift! And, you can't forget about a birthday bag:graucho:

Oh, well, I already have my bag... DH bought that for me waaaaaay back in June, because prices were going up by a whole bunch on the bag I wanted.

So I already have (and have been enjoying!) my "birthday bag" for months!:smile1:

Melora - your modified cowboy is perfection! Kitty S - happy you are also joining in with this knot and received compliments! That's the best, no? When I tried on the Marwari dip dye at the wall st store, the SA was also mesmerized when I whipped up this knot around my neck. She said she had never seen it tied that way before. Imagine that, showing a Hermes scarf SA a new trick. :blushing:

That's pretty impressive, MYH! Now she'll show it to all her customers, and make lots of sales, it it will all be because of you!:smile1:

Oh, these Napoleon scarves with the bees have also been calling my name. Especially since I have a bee and pearl necklace that's one of my favorites. Elaine PG - sounds like you have been on a little bit of a bender on evilbay? me too! I will reveal my new find tomorrow. I also agree that grey or navy would be a good match with the scarf. Frou frou - you are looking gorgeous in all your mod shots. I'm loving the shot with the cowboy knot. Taking a traditional scarf a casual route.

Would love to see your bee & pearl necklace... AND your "new find"! Yes, I would say that evil bay has been seducing me lately:p. And in just 3 short weeks I will be in San Francisco, at the Hermes boutique! I told DH that I hadn't seen many scarves in the new collection that inspired me, so I might walk out empty-handed, and he said "I can't imagine that happening!" You know what? I think he's right!:D

My two temptations (but it tepends on what CWs they have) are Zebra Pegasus (in either the light pink or hot pink CW) and Le Voyage de Pytheas... but I'd like one with a less-muted border. Not necessarily very bright, but not completely muted, if that makes sense. I called the boutique this morning & spoke to a very nice SA, and she told me they have quite a few of Pytheas in stock, but no pink Zebra Pegasus. However, they are always getting shipments from Paris, so she said in 3 weeks that could changes. We shall see!:smile1:

Thank you for for the sweet comments on my Napoleon and P de Longchamps , S'Mom,bunnycat,Melora, bova 123Elaine PG,greengoddess,, Chestnutty, Florasun, MYH and Maedi,

Elaine the tie in the first Napoleon shot you asked about , hmm I did just sling it on tie very roughly as if about to do a bow knot and instead of completing the bow I folded back the tails and tucked them inside the high V of my top , I find sticking the ends inside the bra keep it in place ...
I think we have identical scarves except for the border , and mine is a very strong reddish orange .More orange [ photos were webcam with flash and look more red]
I never associate Christmas with the colour , just think Winter with snow on the trees in the Bois de Boulogne, and intrigue in the carriages !
Try to disappear the borders if you are overwhelmed by the green , as I am with the orange .
Inside a v neck with your magnets will be fab , and I favour the one where I either knot or twist and bring ends to the back to tie .

It's gorgeous anyway , and I hope you will love it .

Wonderful advice, frou frou. I hadn't realized that the border of your scarf was more orange than red. In the eBay pictures, the "red"-bordered CW (like your photos) looks much more red than orange, and I was seriously thinking of buying one of those instead. Except that the price on the green-bordered one was simply too good to leave behind, once I had it authenticated.:graucho:

Now I'm very glad I made that decision, because orange-red is not a good color for me. I only look good in the blue-reds, like this Feux d'Artifices (also a jacquard, which I've had forever):

Hello ladies!
I have been a student this week since I had not known about great Philippe Ledoux. I cannot find any other words except gorgeous and awesome to compliment to all of you here! Thank you for your contributions, ladies!
Dear Croisette , thank you for your wonderful collection of Ledoux. It's an encyclopedia!
Thanks to dear Croisette& dear sparkle, I could find some scarves in my collection related to Ledoux; La Promenade de Longchamp, Harnais de Cour, and New Springs . New Springs is designed by Dimitri R. Is he related to Vladimir R. And Ledoux? I believe the original design is Springs of Ledoux!
Today, I wore La Promenade de Longchamp, which I bought at Faubourg-Saint-Honore H boutique 20 years ago. It used to be a plissé scarf:D, but no longer plissé :D:D

To me, that would be a dream come true, to buy a scarf from the Paris boutique! The colors look lovely on you, dear cherryblossum.

My only Ledoux is my recently acquired Comédie Italienne. I've tried to tie this in my usual sloppy knots, but this scarf refuses to be worn casually! So I wear it when I need to look pulled together, and just hope that I don't seem too old and stuffy.:laugh::laugh:
I might head over to the 90s casual thread and ask for advice.
Old and stuffy? You????? Never!!!!

You look quite pulled-together, in a New York City sort of way. (And, being a former New Yorker, I mean that in a good way!)
