Off-theme, but especially for birdonce, because of Breton stripes: Quai aux Fleurs in a messy criss-cross knot with a honey-toned horn shawl ring.
I bought the scarf in 1990, so it's lovely and soft. I used to wear it with navy suits; now it's great with denim!:smile1:

 LOVE it! Reminding me that this scarf is on my eventual wish list and gorgeous in that pale yellow. Flowers and stripes are my BFFs. Gorgeous pairing!

Hmm, is multi-quote limited to only six quotes? I just went back and selected all your kind comments for reply, and yet only a handful of you are actually quoted below. :thinkin: I know I've left out Frou Frou, Seton, Croisette, Chestnutty, and others-- for which I apologize! Not sure if it's me or the technology, but each of your comments was read with appreciation that isn't reflected in the short list of quotees!

In any case, thank you all for letting me share the joy I find in those little snowflakes! It's so nice to have a winter scene on a cashmere, I think-- it makes it feel extra-cozy to wrap up inside it. (Momasaurus, I hope one pops up for you soon!)

Chestnutty, this is one of my favorite blues for denim days. (Imagine if we got our scarf drawers together-- we could probably come up with a more intricate list of blues than even Pantone could imagine.)

Florasun, I've been tempted so many times by the fringed CSPMs, but shied away from them for fear of the very issue you mention. In Germany (where I was living when I first encountered the fringed version) they were displayed with little warning cards that said to expect the fringed hem to fray and pull. :amazed: The one I was in love with (a Charmante aux Animaux) had a white background next to its electric-blue hem, so I sadly left it behind.

Beautiful! I love the 'snow' too!
I also agree with you about the rolled hems. I have one fringe hem and I pulled a run in it the first time I wore it. Swore never again would I buy a fringe hem.

Calexandre, I love your L'hiver en Poste! Especially the snow:D

Wow Calexandre - this one is really special. I love these old 90s with the rolled hems. A beautiful cw too.

Calexandre, this design is one of my faves and especially great in cash/silk.

OH, calexandre, this is so lovely! I've been flirting with this design for so long, but never knew it existed in cashmere. Now I know why I've been waiting all these years! Thank you.

Absolutely beautiful Calexandre:yes:

ok, a quick look with Trois Mosquetaires. didnt style it, just threw it on.

"Throwing it on" looks glamorous and classic here! Gorgeous scarf.

This is not a Ledoux scarf, but I like the knot MYH showed on her "90 casual wear thread" :)

This ties beautifully! This is feeding my desire for more black-background scarves. :D

I forgot how much I like Napoleon the bees and the vignettes are gorgeous .
My most orange orange scarf.

Rushed for a lipstick for the cowboy shot!

You look fabulous with and without the lipstick. That being said, I want to jump through the screen and commandeer that lipstick, because the shade is amazing. (I also love that mirror in the background.)

My contribution for this week: Promenades de Paris, 70cm format. New to me this fall and my first 70cm carre :smile1:

Beautiful choice! This design is wonderful, and this color combo is so lively.

I do not have a scarf to show, but I want to report that I have just purchased a Napoleon 90cm (authenticated, of course, by our wonderful marietouchet!:smile1:). My very first Ledoux, and jacquard as well. How could I resist?

Congrats on the beautiful jacquard! There's just nothing like the shimmer and drape of the jacquard silk.

Looking great Frou Frou - I love Napoleon too!

Thank you and waving hello!

The lipstick[ applied with rather a heavy hand I fear] is yours : Gabrielle by Chanel as recommended by Arabesques of course!

As for the mirror ...I only have old old mercury mirrors in the house , the more fly blown the better . So much more flattering :graucho:

Finally back home to play with my scarves.

I know I added a few ages by wearing a scarf this way, but gosh the scarf is too pretty to tie away in bias...

This white cw is TDF! Oh my! I completely agree this design should not be hidden; this is how I wear my ACdlVs too, for the same reason. When will H release this as a GM?

Today, I wore La Promenade de Longchamp, which I bought at Faubourg-Saint-Honore H boutique 20 years ago. It used to be a plissé scarf:D, but no longer plissé :D:D

Ooooh, I love this post-plisse scarf! I think that's quite a cool look the way the shadows of the former pleats come through on the fabric.

Harnais de Cour GM, Ledoux

Utterly, utterly elegant!

My only Ledoux is my recently acquired Comédie Italienne. I've tried to tie this in my usual sloppy knots, but this scarf refuses to be worn casually! So I wear it when I need to look pulled together, and just hope that I don't seem too old and stuffy.:laugh::laugh:
I might head over to the 90s casual thread and ask for advice.

What a find-- this pattern is simply beautiful. I don't think you look stuffy at all! It's a refined and meticulously-drawn image, and I think your pulled-together look does suit it very well.

I can't have or see enough Breton stripes with H silks , and yellow with the stripes is so fresh.

I'm of an age and have decided that it's all in the mind and attitude . You wear this beautiful scarf elegantly in a way that a very young woman couldn't do if she tried . I do sometimes feel that the silks need to be roughed up with something edgy ,so I stick on a pair of Converse or Palladium canvas shoes or a leather jacket.

Hi scarfie friends! i will be sitting this week out, just admiring all your lovely scarves. I do not have any Ledoux scarves, although from time to time have thought about getting a classic napolean.
Thank you croisette for showing some possible CWs. No surprise, the 3 with the blue borders appeal to me most!

Elaine- love that soft yellow scarf with the blue. blue and yellow always seems like such a classic french color combo.

You are so welcome, scarf1. I know you are the "blue lady". I'm sure you will find a blue one.

Simply amazing, Croisette, so many gorgeous scarves!!! You have a superb range of Ledoux's artistry. Thanks so much for taking the time to post them. :woohoo:

Love your matching nails with the Harnais de Cour CSGM.
And your Napolean collection is super H indeed! I still remember the frenzy over that scarf when it came out. SO beautiful. :smile1:

Here is Esmerelda modeling my only Ledoux, Musee. Excuse my sloppy rendition of the Robee knot. If anyone has figured out how to keep the "pleats" straight please let me know! oops this photo is HUGE.

Beautiful colors for this classic, Florasun. But then, you have so many gorgeous scarves! :smile1:

Ditto Lanit (above). Shoes are great too!

Croisette!! Gasp gasp! I have to post this before you do: "La Marine a Rames"; a collaboration between Ledoux and Vladimir Rybaltchenko

MAIN_6quot_zps13e523c5.jpg

Jahna, I didn't know that they worked together! And on such a beautiful scarf. Rybaltchenko is the artist who did New Springs, the more relaxed version of Ledoux's original Springs. Must go see if I can find my archive pic....

I think this is my only Ledoux, but it's a favorite in my drawer: a PM cashmere L'Hiver en Poste from back in the (IMO) good old days of the rolled hem. This one ties so beautifully. I think my favorite part is the tiny little white polka-dots of snow falling at the top border.

So soft and evocative, calexandre. And we'll be at that stage before we know it - the forecast for upstate NY this Saturday is a low of 27. That's weather for snow!

calexandre - your L'Hiver Poste is absolutely beautiful. Perfect format for this design too!

Thanks seton. I'm having a rare moment of multi-quoting that works. (hopefully!) Such a great color for you. "Throwing them on", especially with shawls, often works out best fo me but then it can hard to duplicate... Part of the art, I guess. ;)

ps - dithering a bit over which colorway often means that many should be chosen. :D

A lovely souvenir of oyur recent trip, Croisette? Very striking!!

Very pretty, Melora!

Pink Promenade de Longchamps little Miss Muffet style

Hi frou frou! It's fantastic to see you in these classics, looking just as exciting as when they first came out.

Knockout colorway, Bova!

I grabbed the picture from the seller's site, just to show you the CW. It's a bit on the "Christmas-y" side, but the price was simply too good to pass up. Hopefully, since I generally wear neutral colors, it won't be too loud. Does anyone else have this CW? Any hints on how I might wear it in months other than December?

What a beauty, ElainePG, and a bargain as well? You had to buy it! Maybe try it with the basic fold, wrap once around, knot and tuck in the ends, or twice around and knot. :smile1:

Off-topic: Brazil Dip Dye GM kept me cozy today

This is quite yummy, Maedi, it makes us feel warmer just looking at those glorious colors. :D

Okay, multi-quote is longer working here....

Chestnutty, your Au Coeur de la Vie is superb! And you look marvelous in it. Wearing it this way is such a pretty and feminine way to show off the intricate pattern. This colorway is almost completely opposite my tropical turquoise one., that's for sure!

cherryblossum - Another winner, love the blue border on your Promenade and it's perfect with the leather. Well done!

Given how nice the blue/green MetM looks with your avatar, I'd definitely vote for the acquistion of this colorway, Greengoddess.

momasaurus - Your Comedie Italienne is brilliant in both of these pictures, and I bet it could go casual too - the beauty of the classics. :D
