Hey Melora, I am really kidding lovingly about "show-offs"! I adore this thread and seeing everyone and their gorgeous scarves. More often than not, my twin step-daughters talk me out of a scarf as soon as I get it anyway, and once I photograph a scarf I happily pass it on. 3 granddaughters help cull the collection too. Being pretty much a New Yorker at heart (think an all-black wardrobe) I tend to wear the same few scarves ALL THE TIME (will be trotting them out this week).

As for the 70CM, so easy to wear cowboy-style.

Surprisingly, I feel good on this thread, even though I can't always find time to participate. It's the shopping spree that gets to me. I know this is very wrong (specially since I do own more than one scarf!), and I'm working on it :) (and maybe I'll find a great job once I'm in the US, and will treat myself with a scarf to celebrate!!)

And as for 70, I cannot deal with tying them, they always look like kinda rat tail 😞 I own only one, a DD CLF. I was gifted with this one at Around Men event in 2012. And I use it... to close my bb Mangeoire, go figure...

It shouldn't be as much rat tail as twillys ;)
because of you, I'm now dreaming of a 70 ;) I guess I'll have to try one next time I'll happen to be near a store (although at H, I feel very bad trying and not buying)

(and please don't feel sorry for me :) I'm not that desperate :) )

This is good to hear, my dear! :D I so rarely use twillys, and mostly around my wrists, I don't feel the 'rat tail' thing I can have with 70s. These 70 are definitely too small, which is a pain for me, as I really like the vintage silk and the designs! I though am glad I'm not on these, I would be bankrupt for years! ;)

Give them to me if they bother you ;) :D
Is the vintage silk different from the silk used on 90s?

Actually, twillys don't appeal to me at all. They seem to be less versatile than carrés.

Have you tried 90 mousseline? I have one, and it's quite thin too! I wonder if you'd have the same feeling.

I only have one, and use it to close my black box Mangeoire! I too don't use my twillys this muchn they rarely come out of box...
I'm not this much in 90 mousselines, but I love 140 and have some. They are my go-to when it's rainy, they work so well under rain! I love them to bits!

Here is one of my "workhorse" scarves and I need some help. (Borrowed the pic from HSCI as it is still too dark and rainy...OMG it's snowing? again?!!) Anyway, I usually wear this scarf folded on the diagonal etc. but I am wondering if anyone has any tricks to show off the middle of the edges (where the three shells are and the "shield" on the fourth side?

"Ballade Oceane" Julia Abadie 1999

As for the 4 70cm "imitation" of Anfang's beautiful "Patch", I am liking the two "Quand Soudain" together with "Sur les Rives du Leman", but I need a fourth scarf. "Balles de Golf" works so well because of the splash of yellow and the graphic golf balls ... stay tuned.

A beautiful one, Jahna! And your Quand Soudain work so well with Rives du Léman! I was on the fence about Balles de Golf, didn't like it at all. Yellow and blue look to me a platitude. But it did work!
Going on the -last season- workhorses, as i'm not sure being able to post tomorrow, here are my real winter workhorses, L'imprimeur Fou Camails from men's dept, and LdR cw11, I used them so much!

Anfang: your patchwork is such a surprise, as you found our yourself. It is so versatile--could you ever tire of it? And honey, what is indigo eperon d'or that is even pricier than the patch shawl? Do tell me.

CobaltBlu: your pooches are precious, especially under the blankie as Pierina's blankie of leaves almost covered her baby.

Jahnna: you are hilarious--wet and swimming--who would have thunk, huh? Honey, you send me that Les Toits, and I'll send you the kites Jacquard. Seems square to me. I love your own Patch shawl. How will you sew them together? You need to tell us your plan Stan.

Lanit: your Unicorn Shawl is spectacular! Was it love at first sight?

Paula24jen: your scarf belt and white jeans are darling together. Love the bird. Looks Pierina-esc to me

Sophieg: you sweetie! How is married life?

D Lee: your folklore is gorgeous on YOU!

Chestnutty: you are the Mistress of the thread and Queen of Silk! Love your blue Tiger---ours will have to meet and thrilled you have Phoenix. LOV-LEY! My dear.

Pegase: Love that you have Tiger too and I'll take you with or without the beard--first time I have not been in 100% agreement with my "twin" Anfang!

Silkies,

Can I share just a few more critters?

When I had the honor to meet Kermit Oliver a few months ago, I asked him what his favorite animal was in his latest design, and he said a "sheep." The scarf was hanging right behind him, and I had not recalled a sheep, and I looked perplexed as I scanned it quickly and he chuckled, "there are no sheep in this one." Trivia Question: KO's favorite animal--a sheep. He talked about the symbolic importance to him. Ladybaga has the Ultimate KO Sheep hanging in her home---she will have to post it again. General Wooly I think we named him.
Forgive the ramble--KO asked me my favorite animal on the scarf, and I said, "hands down, the skunk." He giggled. So here is my favorite KO critter.

Also, I have always wanted a Nuees Imaginaires and the other morning, it listed on evilbay and I scooped it up in three seconds flat. I believe these are some of my favorite, fantastical animals/critters. Okay, I will be quiet next week. Thanks for putting up with me my Silkie Friends.

Sparkle, I loved reading your story and exchange with KO! And your Nuees is so delightful! Adore this Colorway! Reminds me to bring out my mousse. No surprise the skunk tickled you both. Must admit when SA brought out the Licorne I didn't even know it was the licorne, looked like my porcelain tea cup. But after unfurling it I fell for it, especially after it was wrapped around my shoulders. Looks great with browns, greys and navy blues as well as denim.

I admit I'm not a KO fan *ducks* but we are twins on the NI. Love how whimsical it is and the cw, right up my alley!

Scarfies,
As you all knew I hunted a Jardin de Leila coffret back in January during my trip to FSH. I was seriously debating between the blue colorway and another colorway, ended up with the blue because I love the porcelain vibe. But with my hoarding habit, you know that ain't stay for long. With H, when in doubt, buy BOTH. So here's what I hunted down to complete my greed.
Jardin de Leila coffret with its matching scarf in cw 14 Blanc/Vert/Brun (which has a lot of hunter green and fungi green along with multitude of browns).

Some modeling pics:

I have recently discovered a new way to wear my 90cm in a shawl-like way. This has become my to-go knot on days that I am deceived by the sun and walk out of the house without being armed with cashmere, hah.

I am totally charmed by your quasi-"turtleneck" wraps, Chestnutty! And, I gotta see that fungi green IRL, I thought I knew every shade of green there was!

Nice scarf :) I've had the same issue with Point d'orgue, and came with 2 possibilities:
- fold in rectangle, and use a shawl ring
- bring all corners to the center, which creates a smaller scarf where your shells will be in the corners. Then, basic bias fold and use a scarf ring to knot in basic slide.

I guess it's part of being human ;) I banned myself from the spring 2014 scarves thread, because I can't afford to buy one, and once the collection hit the stores, I felt jealous instead of being happy admiring the designs (shame on me!)

I haven't gotten any Spring 2014 designs and suddenly I find that a tpf Fall 2014 thread has popped up. Which is just as well. Buildings can get quite overheated when the weather is so kooky. No point in wearing a scarf when it gets so hot inside (not to mention, in a month or so, hot outside, too).

Today it snowed enough to whiten the lawns. By the end of the week, it's supposed to be well into the 60s, spring-like weather.
