^ I combined two scarves sewing each end together by hand stich.
I found the blog of a French lady, in which the combined stole of Courbettes et Cabrioles & Brides de Gala was introduced.
I do not recommend this way to people who do not want to damage their silks. I do not either. But her stole was incredibly beatiful and the idea of combining two different scarves touched my heart. Since then, I've been obsessed with selecting two silk twills to make my original stole.I made one stole a few years ago and fortunately the stole had a good reputation. I took the first stole apart, fortunately each scarf is still active , almost without major damages. I newly made two stoles for coming season.
Here is the second stole.
A Cheval Sur Mon Carre 14 saumon/gris perle/etoupe
Carre en Carre 06 saumon/corail/beigr rose
OMG cherryblossum, 2 absolutely dreamy cw paired together!!!

Spinkapallina, thank you so much! Yes, the VeE is from the Fall collection. It is so hard to capture the colors in this one..for me anyway! I need to take a modeling photo outside, in direct sunlight, but need DH to help me with that! Here is the color reference for you: Rose Indien/Vert/Violet. I tried to match up one of my other scarves that has a very similar shade to the pink. I pulled out Mors et G in cw 07. I checked the color reference and it is Rose VIF! You have a great eye for pink cws!! :smile1: I think you would love this cw! The colors of the kimonos are fantastic. I can see, from your lovely avatar, that you like pink as much as me!! Let me know if you get it!! :D
VITAMINA H - Thanks so much for your lovely reply and for cw reference! I really need to see this Voyage en etoffes IRL ..yes like you, PINK is my favourite color as you can see and always admire beautiful pink scarves as yours Glad we are also twins on the Mors et gourmettes scarf , mine is the previous issue in ROSE INDIEN, VIOLET, JAUNE OR ( I still have to learn how to load pics on the forum..)

Imagine having a scarf from 1951! How exciting! It looks as though it's in very good shape. And yet there is so much white in it! When it arrived from the reseller, did you need to have it dry-cleaned?
Elaine, the auction pictures were not particularly enticing, showing a very wrinkly and neglected scarf. I did have it dry-cleaned by my trusty local establishment. Luckily the ivory background had no stains at all, but there are a few small smudges in the green border that don't bother me.

How about a "collection" of Samurai swords? Daimyo, in the gold & black CW. I'm wearing the scarf against a navy tee, so the scarf has taken on a bit of a navy cast, but it is a true, deep black. And if you look closely, you can see the jacquard ginkgo leaves!

The first photo is courtesy of dear arabesques, whose knot I tried (tried!:giggles:) to copy. Thank you, my friend! If I keep practicing, I might just make it look as pretty as yours! My personal favorite is the third knot, since it makes the two cranes in the center visible.

Love your Daimyo and excellent knotting to show the cranes but also wanted to say how much I admire and appreciate the work you did helping others. So enjoy your scarves!
