Hello! It's been a busy summer and suddenly I'm 120 pages behind....but thank you all in advance for the gorgeousness that awaits!!!

Off topic here but the weather is cooler at last and the the new New Libris stole had a first outing today. The color is lighter and warmer IRL, #78 Marine. I could live in this navy, it's perfect. There's more cashmere in these stoles too. :graucho:

Back this weekend with something pink for our most worthy theme week. :D
Very nice. Thank you for sharing

Thank you so much ElainePG; I was hoping you'd drop in today! The flower wasn't hard to do, but with the larger square, the flower needed a little more support so instead of ending in back I wrapped the ends around to the front and tied them under the flower, which seemed to help the weight distribution a bit. I can't wait to see you do one!
Thank you for the advice... I was wondering how the "flower" would keep from drooping all over the place:p. I'll give it a try... maybe next week with my pink scarf.

How about a "collection" of Samurai swords? Daimyo, in the gold & black CW. I'm wearing the scarf against a navy tee, so the scarf has taken on a bit of a navy cast, but it is a true, deep black. And if you look closely, you can see the jacquard ginkgo leaves!

The first photo is courtesy of dear arabesques, whose knot I tried (tried!:giggles:) to copy. Thank you, my friend! If I keep practicing, I might just make it look as pretty as yours! My personal favorite is the third knot, since it makes the two cranes in the center visible.

Oh this scarf is lovely Elaine I need to find time to practice my knots. What a beauty.

I just looked it up on the Hermès site and saw (sigh) that it only comes in the 140cm size. Or at least, that's the only size I was able to find. At 5' nothing (on a good day:giggles:) that's simply too much scarf for me!

Do you happen to know if they have ever issued this scarf in the standard 90cm size? I'd buy it in a heartbeat! I'm in love!
ElainePG - Folklore is a vintage design that got reissued in various formats due to Hermes' recent d'Origny fever. It was issued many years ago (1980's or even older) in 90cm silk carré, and then in the past twenty years in cashmere GM 140cm, mousselines PM 90cm, mousseline stole, cashmere PM 90cm, and twilly. Silk GM is the latest addition. It features Slavic motifs of flowers and birds, finished with harness straps and braidwork at the borders.
Like any d'Orignys work, Folklore is a very symmetric design, hence a dream to tie. Definitely a must-have, in any format.

Better when pics are actually included ;)

The colors of CdC are so autumn taste! Swarovski earings are verry pretty! Beautifully paired!

Melora- I love Colliers de Chien twilly! I think that's the one I want next. And I super love the matching earrings too! Nice!

Here I am channeling arabeques' stripe shirt post from the other day with my second knot attempt. I decided to go straight for the throat, LOL. It's BdG again since that's my only carre right now, and luckily fit this weeks theme. It looks complex maybe but it's not a hard knot and supposedly is better for smaller squares. I can see how that might be. It's called a flower knot. I couldn't resist that. I was aiming for Brides to be in front again, and got it (YAY!) with a tiny bit of fussing. I was afraid the pattern would be too big to make the flower work, but I think it still looks nice.

Here the link I got the instructions from, in case anyone is interested:

You have such an interesting scarf, dear ElainePG! I know much about Daimyo, but not much about the design! So I quickly searched this scarf. I found that the designer was Françoise Faconnet , who I had been interested in for a while. And the name of the scarf Is Daimyo-Princes du Soleil Levant. ”Soleil Levant” is the true meaning of Nippon.(we call Japan Nippon)
Thank you for letting me share what I studied. I'm sure you are interested in anything about H scarves!

Bunnycat, this is gorgeous on you. The pink is lovely with your coloring and yes, perfect blend of color on those lips.

Oh my little sprite at 5 foot nothin' on a good day---that made me laugh! You are going to be in trubs when you see the new Voyages. But honestly, I think the first edition releases have better colorways. This is one of my all time favorite shawls and I have two cws, which is VERY luxurious for me. We are distant cousins on the other Kimonos scarf to which you refer.

Maedi, we almost always agree---my silky sister--we can time share the jige. Let me know when you need her. My life does nor require a clutch but the color made me gasp and the price was fair.

Hehe, time share - what a great idea! We can also time share pets :smile1:. How are all your dear ones doing? Aren't we glad to have Baga back?:D

Bunnycat, love your creative knots.

Elaine, Daimyo is a beauty on you.

Lanit, BdM is a stunner.

Pierina, I was just recently thinking about you and a glad to see your post. This is a glorious shawl. So sophisticated and easy to wear. Are you still up North?

Thank you again,dear ElainePG!

One more thing, dear Elaine PG
, I need to pop in. About your Kimonos et Inros . Kimonos,as you know, are traditional Japanese clothes. And Inros are traditional Japanese accessories, used as pochettes. The disign is truely featured Japanese traditional culture.
On the other hand, Etoffes are restricted not only to Kimonos.
