Ladies, I thought I would see what happened by combining the same scarf in two different colorways.

Alas, I think these CWs of Qu'Importe le Flacon are too similar to even look like it's two different scarves. :shrugs:

Does anyone else have the same scarf in a couple of different CWs? It would be interesting to see photos of those combined a la the week's theme!

Gorgeous!

So I've played in my scarf drawers for a few minutes (a lovely break from what has been an insane work and travel schedule) and I've decided to pair L'Arbre de Vie and Au Coeur de la Vie. Similar names and turquoise accents, with some pinks.

The knot is pretty loose and cozy, and I think I'll try it again on colder days!http://www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/

Thank you ,sophieg! Unique and pretty pair!

Thank you, cherryblossum. I bought Les Muserolles in 1986, the year it came out, and to my knowledge it hasn't been reissued. It really is one of the "old style" Hermès designs, isn't it? The scarves from this century look nothing like it! I've only recently come back to buying Hermès scarves (until a few months ago, I hadn't purchased one since 1993!) and I was just amazed at how the designs had changed so radically in twenty years!

Would you please tell us what you purchsed after a long time? I'd like to know which scarf made you decide to be back to H!

Bunnycat, have you tried braiding the twilly for use as a bracelet? If you're close to a boutique, ask your SA, they've been trained on making this look recently.

or, if you have 3 twillies, you can braid them together like you would with hair

very cool! thank you for posting this chestnutty.

Thank you Melora, moma, rosamonde, maedi and birkinmary for your sweet comments. Welcome to new posters elaine and bunnycat! I combined a 70 and a 90 and this is the result with two contrasting silks Kelly en Perles and New Springs. Keep those photos and creative combos going - so much fun to see!

Lanit- I keep going back to look at your lovely combination. Do you happen to have a picture of them spread out?

Beautiful and inspiring contributions.
Birkinmary - your combos are Wow!
Elaine, great intro to corporate America a few years ago :D
Too many great posts to comment individually but thank you!

She sees the bet and raises one twilly! You are forgiven for H cheating, especially as that green is lovely.

Oh, birkinmary, do tell us how you fold your scarves together to get this tie. Beautiful! And I must concur--you have an outstanding eye for pairing your gorgeous silks. :cloud9:

Thank you Rosamonde, it's very easy to do, just fold both scarves in bias one on top of the other, twist them slightly and do a double knot, I can't wait for your pictures using this technique.

HI Cherryblossum! Thank you! I actually have two pics!

I took a pic of what I did with the 2 twilly's the other day (though only one claims illustrious H parentage, LOL) :p They did go together nicely, I think. They are just twisted together gently so that each one shows its colors and tied in a quick knot. (I live in a very hot climate and so large scarves don't make a lot of sense for me except in fall/winter, but I love my little bandeaux and twilly type scarves because they don't take up so much neck real estate and are fun all year round.)

Also, I was reading through the thread and earlier someone showed the trick of tying the wrist knot, so I had to try that today also and took a pic while waiting for hubby so we could go cabinet shopping. It works like a charm. I'd have never thought to do that around the wrist, though I use that pass through all the time on neck scarves.

The H scarf in both pics is Bouclerie D'Attelage twilly.

Thanks for letting me join in! I hope to do so again soon!

I love the way you've tied your twillys together, bunnycat.

I'm just blown away by your incredible colorways, birkinmary. The mix of greens in Marwari + Tresors Retrouves makes me think of the month of May, when some of the leaves are still in their early "Springtime" green and other leaves, which get more of the sun, have already darkened to their summer richness.

I love the way you use one scarf to make the wrap around the other one. Do you also do that when you are wearing them? I keep studying your photos, and trying to figure out how to make it work IRL, but I can't figure out the trick...:p

Thank you Elaine, I'm also very fond of green scarves. I have told Rosamonde how to tie them, it's very easy, I hope it helps.

Ladies,
My belated thanks to you for the kind compliments on my pink Passage a Tokyo rosette look.

birkinmary - I can always expect exquisite pics from you. Your pics never disappoint. Quite a pleasure for the eyes.

Thank you Chestnutty, I'm glad you liked them.

One minute of confession: I just cheated on H. On my walk around the neighborhood last weekend, I stopped by a small indie boutique and fell for the colorway of this non-brandname infinity scarf. I love the colors so much, so fresh and vibrant, and the price was less than CA sales tax on a H twilly, so heck why not! :D
And here's my score (love that it matched my Zara tweed jacket nicely)

This is great, and the jacket is gorgeous.

Today's combos are a little more elaborated, I've used the same technique for both of them and the final result looks exactly like a GM. I hope you like them:

Thank you, dear birkinmary!
The pairings you're showing today are splendid - we're cousins on Laboratoire du Temps (I'm actually wearing my blue one today) and your navy Domes Celestes is TDF!

What a wonderful, colorful combination! L'Arbre de Vie is on my "wish list"... one of these days I will find exactly the right CW, from exactly the right reseller, at exactly the right price!:D
Thank you, dear Elaine!
I got a good chuckle out of your business outfit post - I'm a consultant, and DC is still pretty staid when it comes to clothing, and I have meetings today... so I'm wearing a navy blue skirt suit with a scarf! And my pearl earrings, although no matching necklace and my top is aqua, not a white dress shirt :sweatdrop:

I love the braided twillies, dear Chestnutty!
Your new scarf is cute, but I wonder what your "punishment" is for cheating on H... so many temptations next time you walk into the boutique that you're unable to resist and walk out with a giant orange bag?:graucho::D
