Thank you Melora, moma, rosamonde, maedi and birkinmary for your sweet comments. Welcome to new posters elaine and bunnycat! I combined a 70 and a 90 and this is the result with two contrasting silks Kelly en Perles and New Springs. Keep those photos and creative combos going - so much fun to see!

Thank you for the welcome, lanit... I'm learning so much, and having such a blast seeing everyone's beautiful collections. So much creativity on this thread!

I never even knew it was possible to combine a 70cm and a 90cm... but now that I see it, I'm thinking, "Of course!" (head slap!) The CWs are perfect together for an end-of-summer look.

Dear Elaine, I love your idea of combining scarves by theme! I was not aware of either pattern you show here--thank you for including pix of both scarves unfolded. That is really helpful and makes it even more fun to see how you've combined them. (I meant to do that myself today and I forgot! Maybe I can go back and edit my post to include them?)

Here's how I prepare the scarves for the braid: fold each in the bias fold nice and crisply, then tie them together by the ends carefully, so the rest of the scarf doesn't fall out of the bias fold.

If you want a neater, tighter braid: As you braid, keep rotating the finished part up and away from the center of your chest, trying to keep the tension even, and pulling the braid apart so it doesn't bunch up.

If you want a loose, fat, messy braid, pull the sections apart a bit and puff after you finished braiding.

But please note that even a "neat" braid isn't going to look all THAT neat...part of the charm for me, anyway! :D Good luck and do post photos if you can!

Thank you for the instructions, rosamonde. I will give this a try tomorrow, and see what I can accomplish. Even if it's a bit messy, I promise to post a photo... I have finally found the perfect place to stand in my bedroom where the light is corrrect for the colors to show up, even though I'm just using my iPhone to take the picture!

thank you for the welcome lanit! I hope to be able to post photos here someday. I love scarves!

This isn't a double-scarf, but everyone was so helpful with ideas for my poor, ignored Muserolles that I wanted to show what I did this morning.

As you can see, I made a necklace. I just used three knots, because I don't own any little scarf rings yet (though I picked some up "on the cheap" at Etsy last night!). But I was able to make the knots in such a way that the pink and purple stood out, and now the scarf isn't overpoweringly grey.:smile1: And I'm sure if I had done a bit more fiddling with the sections between the center knot and the two side knots, puffing them out a bit, I could have gotten even more of the pink to pop out.

Thank you cherryblossum, Melora24, rosamonde, momasaurus, and Birdonce for your encouragement. Birdonce, my next project for this carré will be the "flower" knot!

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing

Love it! I haven't tried that one since I didn't have appropriate sx rag rings but don't think about lnots

Thank you, loukpeach and birdonce!

BTW, I just bought some very inexpensive little rings from this Etsy seller: https://www.etsy.com/shop/coreringscarf?section_id=12255588&ref=shopsection_leftnav_2
Until they arrive I can't say if they will work or not, but the price was certainly right! My only concern is that they must be smooth inside, so the silk doesn't catch. I'll let you know!

I just wanted to say I've been so inspired by this week's theme! I've lurked on this thread for many months admiring, and have only just begun my scarf collection. But this week made me go play with a few of my little scarves and I combined two twilly scarves that worked together. I don't know if it's ok to post it here, since only one of them is an H, but it sure was fun! Thanks for the inspiration!

Dear bunnycat,we 'd love to see your double twilly!

Super look and combo cherryblossum!

Thank you ,lant!
I was wondering how to combine 70 and 90. I have had no idea so far. It's so much fun to see your beautiful solution!

This is a really fun Scarf Week theme! I'm very much enjoying seeing all the combinations you ladies are coming up with, and it's fun to be creative and try something new.

OK, so I seem to be obsessed with this two-scarf braid! Here is one more, with La Ronde des Heures and Tout Cuir.

But just to prove that I am not COMPLETELY stuck on the braid, here are the same two scarves mimicking a 140 cm in the weave knot.

I think it's fun that the gentler colors showed in the braid, where we get more of the reds and navies from both scarves in the weave knot. (That's the hallmark of a great H scarf in my opinion--how many different looks you can get from it--and these are two of the favorites in my collection for just that reason!)

(P.S. Edited to add photos of the scarves unfolded. Again, please excuse the boots--archival pic!)

I love these two combination!

Sure! This is the scarf... and when I fold it on the bias and tie it in a simple square knot, all you can see is dark grey, light grey, and gold. The pink hardly shows at all... yet for my coloration, I feel as though I need the pink. Wearing so much grey next to my face just makes me look tired.:p I guess because there's a fair amount of grey in my hair!

Thank you in advance... I'm game for any suggestions!

This is a beautiful scarf! Glad you are experimenting with ways to tie it rather than letting it languish.
