Finally, a little time for the critters. I could swear I heard the first "peeper" (wonder what those little frogs are really called?).

Wore my GM "La Vie du Grand Nord" today (lots of critters-someone post?) but I am saving it for "workhorse" week.

Here are two of my favorite scarves. First "L'Ombres et Lumieres" Annie Faivre, love to wear it, but I really bought it because I was crazy about the light and shadow. Reminded me of an Edvard Munch painting: http://artunframed.com/Gallery/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Summer-Nights-Dream-Edvard-Munch.jpg

Love the comparison with the Munch - I only ever saw Paolo Uccello's Hunt in the Forest with this one.

Janha, the monkeys and foxes on your Annie F were adorable. Amazing how she hides the critters. I hope someone finds the monkey on L'Atlantide on Faivre week.

Nico, Saffron is more adorable than any scarf critter.

Here is my contribution for today. There is an outline of an elephant in the center of the scarf. I never saw it before I took the photo, ingenious. Then there are critters everywhere. Very happy monkeys. It's hard to see the individual animals because there is so much orange. I might be happier with this scarf in a different cw.

Pierina it was an interesting journey. When I started out with scarves I thought I just loved everything and then it dawned on me that what I appreciated most was the way that the art of Hermes developed my own understanding of the natural world.

The exceptions are mostly graphics - for example an En Voyage with beautiful violets, A Marcelina with blue and orange. Tous les Bateaux in the cream and bordeaux didn't really fit the 'natural world' requirement which is why it took me a full year of salivating to eventually buy it. In general I am happy to make an exception for classical themes so Musique des Dieux fitted in OK despite the lack of fur and feathers.

The exception to all rules is one I think you will understand - that peachy KO shawl that you have modelled so beautifully - Danses des Indiennes (title?). I think I can make more exceptions for KO...

Oh kittyvoo, I love the way you have explained your love of silk and how it helps you rearrange your understanding of nature...love love this idea. Can't wait to think about it some more.

Jahna, you always make me giggle! Love your first post. I have seen this scarf many times but never close up to appreciate it enough. Lov-ley!

Niko, your kitty is precious and my favorite color is Saffron. Love him!!

I must share just a few more pics WITH silk Ms. Jahna. Here is my newest kid, Miss Zoey. She is only a few hours old and Peanut, my Twilly wearing love, is her mommy! Phoenix, my wolf/malamute pooch would not leave the baby and kept licking her clean. So sweet.

OMG! OMG! I don't want to be an urbanite anymore! I want to live on a farm! The animals are SO cute!

Critters in mousselines today, archives pics again though. Happily busy with houseguests again. :smile1:

Lalbhai is full of critters of every description.

Pierina, just gorgeous. I think my color choices and yours are similar. My hair is pure white, has been since I was 40 or so. And you have the gorgeous whitish blond hair; perhaps that is the reason my eyes are very often drawn to your color choices.

Carre Kantha has elephants galore and a pair of sweetly predatory tigers. We saw some of their real life cousins at the McCarthy Wildlife Sanctuary recently, in all sort of colorways. :D
They were doing what cats do best - sleeping! And getting a tummy scratch for a piece of meat. McCarthy's rescue a lot of animals that are illegally imported and then kept in untenable situations. A woman was raising this male lion with her newborn, in her home. Yikes! This is where the rescued lemur lives too.

Thank you, beekmanhill! I'm well on the way to pure white as well. My dad's hair went white when he was barely 20 but my siblings and I have lasted much longer. Speaking of liking similar things, I've been admiring the Mythiques Phoenix in your avatar. :graucho::graucho: Do you have any pictures of it in action?

No I don't, Pierina, I'll try to get some this weekend.

Love these scarves, Jahna, thanks for posting them. The little birds are so whimsical but also the teensiest bit creepy in a very appealing way. Never seen this one in real life before. :smile1: And love those foxes hidden in the foliage of the Lumieres. Very clever!
OT for sure but I took a pic of my little dog camouflaged in the maple leaves this Fall:

Miss Zoey is too adorable! Phoenix sounds so sweet, surrogate mommy?

What a beautiful change tray, your DH is a smart guy! :D

Love the photos of the real life cousins Pierina. It's so crazy that people think they can keep animals like this as pets in their homes, it's already hard enough with a regular sized cat!
