I would take senor Colomb. Thought it would be cool if I can find me some hot sailor in that island. We can sail the blue sea and eat our mangoes together and discover more islands and named them :girlsigh:.......as long as he takes be back in time to pick up the kids:p
Carrelover, this pic is outstanding! Bravo my dear!

Seton, Jahna, vigee, LadyB, Croisette, Anfang...:ty::whiteflag: I am feeling on a desert island these days due to work work work. I hope everyone is enjoying the last day of spring, or the first day of summer!
You're very welcome, my dear lanit! I know what you feel as I am in the same work-work-work boat... Hope you're able to have some rest this weekend! ;)

Thank you Maedi for your comment on Zaba! I am doing great! Resting up to start a new full time teaching assignment which begins in August! I am so excited and blessed to be in the classroom again! Hope you are enjoying your summer!

Thank you, Undine! She's my first silky love.

VitaminaH, You and I are so much alike! I am obsessed with matching earrings and silks, too! I am well-schooled in Matchy Matchy! Thanks for your sweet words about my plisse and ear decor. Accessories are so much fun! If you are ever in the Cape Cod region of the U.S., you must take a boat (or plane) over to Nantucket. It is really a gorgeous part of the country. :smile1:

Ladybaga, I agree! We are so much alike! I already have my eye on a pair of yellow earrings from one of my favourite jewelry brands! I keep finding scarves and shawls with yellow this season;). I really never liked yellow much before, but now...! Thank you for the tip on Cape Cod and Nantucket too. I really must add this to my bucket list:smile1:!

I would bring my La Femme, it was my first, brought from Paris by my DH...its intrepid traveler would inspire and the cool Himalayas would be nice to look at if the island gets too hot....and it would remind me of my beloved Tibetan Terriers :)

Katekluet, this is a gorgeous scarf! We always have such special memories to that first piece of silky H! I love your avatar too!:smile1: Is this one of your fur babies? It is a gorgeous dog!

Jungle Love Pareo - perfect island beach silk, BKM!

Wowwee - I just love how you pull these stunners out of your bag of magic silks Jahna! Great design and illustrations!

Yup - for sure GF is a winner on you seton! You are right about those cool evening breezes.

I am going to cheat and say that one silk and one GM is much needed for remote island. I wave my silk surrender - must be bright enough to flag down rescuers....;) Le Monde est Vaste Tokyo Edition and Bateaux to dream of ships getting me to and from :)

Lanit, your Le Monde is just glorious! The colors are so stunning. Wow! I could just sit and stare at her all day! :smile1:. I love your GM Bateaux too. I am your lil sis on this one and it one of my most loved 90 cm's!:smile1:

History and Hermes are as integral as caterpillar and silk, thread and needle, so this week’s theme should be fun and informative: - History Lessons: Scarves that pay homage to historic events or anniversaries

Truth be known, I am a bit of an idiot and am not really moved with Big Ole Mr. Columbus all booted up on Les Ameriques, or Napoleon looking quite tall on his honorary square….just kind of a simpleton I guess…..I have a hard time mixing silk with history but clearly, I am the oddball. Hence, my post is a twisted version of history and silk, nonetheless, I would love to share my brand new and new to me Offrande d’un jour by Dimitri Rybaltchenko.

The design, Offrande d’un jour is of the floral decorations crafted on the ground each morning at harvest time by the women of Kerala, in southwest India. With whole and crushed blossoms, they create shapes representing deities, sacred symbols, animals, flowers… Each day, the patterns made with petals are swept away and the artwork begins anew. On the tenth day of each cycle, the earth is graced with the most elaborate of designs. Can you imagine seeing this with your own eyes? Hermes gave this scarf even deeper dimension by donating to CRY (Child Rights and You, the Indian NGO supporting education and schooling of underprivileged children.

Sparklelisab, your O d'un J scarf is beautiful! Wow! I love the story behind the scarf. It is very special indeed! :smile1: I always look forward to Sunday and the new theme (thank you for all your hard work:flowers:). You are a very creative girl:smile1:!!

Thanks, Vitamina H, and the life of the woman in that scarf is so fascinating. Yes, my avatar is my dog Dougal, he is a love...and I have another, Harrison, both Tibetan Terriers

Katekluet, your are so welcome! Your TT, Dougal is adorable! I have a neighbor with a TT and it is also a cutie and always a happy boy! They actually remind me a lot of my little guy before I started cutting Oliver's hair shorter! I love their names too! Too cute:smile1:.

Ooooooh sparklelisab, this one is SUCH a thing of beauty! So far, I still couldn't find a scarf matching the week's theme... A lazy, happy lurker here! Bring on the good stuff my friends! :D

Scarfies - This week's theme also encompasses:
- Scarves that were issued to commemorate the opening/reopening of any H boutiques (for example, Beverly Hills scarf, Turandot for the Charlotte store, etc.)
- or scarves that were designed for good causes (Central Park, Offrandes d'Un Jour, King Ranch, etc.)
in other words, limited edition scarves do count in this theme.

Thanks Hun, you know you have a Dufas at the helm.:hugs:

Thank you!:hugs:

Ladybaga!! Honey, have you lost your mind?? Wait, let me understand this: You CHOSE to go back to work FULL TIME to teach rug rats? Oh darling, we must chat before you sign contract....

The only positive side will be more days to match your earrings with your scarves, lots of sweet re-gift presents, and more funds for H.

Congratulations though. If YOU are Happy, Maedi and I are Happy for you!

Vitamina H, Anfang, Sparklelisab.....there are plenty of strapping young lads on the ship, so I will make room for you;)

I don't think I have any commemorative issues in my small collection. This is probably my only limited edition silky. The silk does feel like my vintage Vera Neumann's. Sorry it is too hot to model this baby today, hope you don't mind seeing it laying on piano bench. Have a fab Sunday, my friends!

Hello dear scarfies! I have been quite busy settling in the past week. I didn't find time to comment on your lovely islands, but your choices of scarves were as beautiful as usually.
Anfang, ladybaga, I'm happy to see you're both back!

Can someone tell me why I've been cold for the past 2 weeks? All my long sleeve shirts are on a boat. In the meantime, I'm wearing the same cardigans over and over, and I wish I could find sweaters in stores ;)

Cowboy knot seems to be the only way to stay warm, and I guess Raconte-moi le cheval could be considered history ;)

there are second hand stores or ebay if you're really in need of a sweater. :smile1:

Reconte Moi actually IS a commemorative scarf. It was pre-issued for Harrods' 150th anniversary. It came in 3 or 4 cws. I actually preferred the cws of the reissues.
