Vitamina H, Anfang, Sparklelisab.....there are plenty of strapping young lads on the ship, so I will make room for you;)

I don't think I have any commemorative issues in my small collection. This is probably my only limited edition silky. The silk does feel like my vintage Vera Neumann's. Sorry it is too hot to model this baby today, hope you don't mind seeing it laying on piano bench. Have a fab Sunday, my friends!

Carrelover, I thank you so much for making room for us too!:yahoo:! Maybe they will resemble some of the WC hotties;)! Hee,hee!

I love your gorgeous limited edition silk. The orange color is so radiant for summer:smile1:!

Wow, look at you Croisentte! An entire year or ten of history lessons. I love Europa and the cw of Christophe Colombe is fabulous with that grey ocean. I think I see some hot Pirates that jumped ship from Vitamina's boat from last week!!

there are second hand stores or ebay if you're really in need of a sweater. :smile1:

Reconte Moi actually IS a commemorative scarf. It was pre-issued for Harrods' 150th anniversary. It came in 3 or 4 cws. I actually preferred the cws of the reissues.

seton, his cw is precious. Love the b/w horses.

Hello dear scarfies! I have been quite busy settling in the past week. I didn't find time to comment on your lovely islands, but your choices of scarves were as beautiful as usually.
Anfang, ladybaga, I'm happy to see you're both back!

Can someone tell me why I've been cold for the past 2 weeks? All my long sleeve shirts are on a boat. In the meantime, I'm wearing the same cardigans over and over, and I wish I could find sweaters in stores ;)

Cowboy knot seems to be the only way to stay warm, and I guess Raconte-moi le cheval could be considered history ;)

Beautiful scarf, Melora! Maybe you can check out stores on-line for sweaters;)! I hope you are getting adjusted to your new city and loving life!:smile1: Moving is always a lot of work, especially international.

Thank you! It's so nice to enjoy all your H-knowledge!
I prefer my blue, or birkinmary's darker colorway, but it's nice to see the original center of this scarf.

Sparklelisab, just noticed I said about the same thing you did to Seton! Great minds think alike:laugh:! Seton's RM is just so sweet!:smile1:

I better go round up those hot pirates!:D I gotta late night WC match to watch! ha!

Oh, you consider it blue? I store mine with my purple scarves. It's right next to a Parme scarf (official color) and it's slightly more blu than parme but it's a lot more purple than my blue section. I believe that we're triplets with Maedi so maybe she can giver her 2 cents.

Fairytales to commemorate the Brothers Grimm, Anderson, Mother Goose etc. and Central Park. Both pictures from archive hence the wintery outfit with Central Park.
I love this week so far - many interesting eye candy.:smile1:

One more of Fairytales and then my Raconte-moi (triplets with seton and melora).

Seton, I agree with you and view it as more purple (lavender). I wouldn't put it in the blue category.

Melora, JCrew has merino wool and cashmere sweaters year round.:smile1: Stay warm. Columbia Sportswear also has warmer and practical summer jackets.

For me it's "bleu pervenche", which is actually a blue tending towards lilac, but still a blue.

Croisette, what a lovely collection of history-themed scarves! You have convinced me that red will be my CW of Sansouci (someday). We are cousins with Mozart and Europe! And I love the blues on your Geographie!

I just look at your pictures. Thanks for posting them in high-def! They are amazing :) I love Mozart and Salzburg. I visited Sans-souci when I was in Berlin. And even if I had never heard of Hermès back then, the 200th anniversary in 1989 was quite a big deal in elementary and middle schools!

Nice Fairytales!

Just checked with my husband, and he too says it's lavender or parme, but not blue.

However, I'd love to visit seton's closet and admire the blue and purple sections ;)

History and Hermes are as integral as caterpillar and silk, thread and needle, so this week’s theme should be fun and informative: - History Lessons: Scarves that pay homage to historic events or anniversaries

Truth be known, I am a bit of an idiot and am not really moved with Big Ole Mr. Columbus all booted up on Les Ameriques, or Napoleon looking quite tall on his honorary square….just kind of a simpleton I guess…..I have a hard time mixing silk with history but clearly, I am the oddball. Hence, my post is a twisted version of history and silk, nonetheless, I would love to share my brand new and new to me Offrande d’un jour by Dimitri Rybaltchenko.

The design, Offrande d’un jour is of the floral decorations crafted on the ground each morning at harvest time by the women of Kerala, in southwest India. With whole and crushed blossoms, they create shapes representing deities, sacred symbols, animals, flowers… Each day, the patterns made with petals are swept away and the artwork begins anew. On the tenth day of each cycle, the earth is graced with the most elaborate of designs. Can you imagine seeing this with your own eyes? Hermes gave this scarf even deeper dimension by donating to CRY (Child Rights and You, the Indian NGO supporting education and schooling of underprivileged children.

OMG !!!

Waht a beautiful scarf!!!

And the "history" behind it... it's amazing

This touches me more than any other "hero"...

Congratulations and enjoy it!!!!!
