My mom's Les Bles. The original design is 1956, I'm not sure if this was original edition or not, but it's certainly far too fragile to wear (note the darning). That year she would have been a recent graduate of the University of Illinois, in Champaign (not Champagne!).

I have this cw. Mine is from the 1990s. I'm quite fond of it, as I do all of my Bles.

Some of my oldest scarves:

1946, Les Joies de la Montagne by Clerc

Your Combats is breathtaking, Bkm!

Oh, s'Mom, Les Oiseaux is one of my favorite scarves, we are twins!

Make that triplets! Here are my two 50s versions. I also have a 70s version and one from the last time they did it in the 2000s.

An upside-down bird, and a tie-knot to show the pipes :)

I see u are having a lot of fun with your new scarf. Congrats, it's a beauty!

Really nice Oiseaux Seton. I also have 3 of these but not the pink one; charming!

birkinmary, on top of how great you look, you have an amazing collection...

Pegase, thanks so much for the compliment; the portrait remains one of my favorites.

Deborah1986, so good to see you again!

VesperSparrow, I love Les Bles, but yours is so special with the darning; when did we stop darning socks? I still have the...hmmm...name? ...egg with handle? that my Mother used for that.

Vesper Sparrow, this is so beautiful! What an amazing family keepsake! Thanks for sharing.

Deborah, you look great! I hope you have an amazing holiday in Greece! Ahh, looks so relaxing....love Greece. Enjoy!

CocoSoCo, that IS a fabulous CW of La Cle' Des Champ; thanks for posting it!

S'Mom, I love that scarf; I have the blue CW-not sure of the date-I'll try to take a picture tomorrow. And I am enjoying all the "Oiseaux"!

Anfang, thanks! I am still taking some of my color palettes from you...
No need to thank, my dear Jahna, it's an honour and a pleasure for me :blushing:

I'm still on cloud nine with my new scarf, and noticed that the color and theme match my bracelet.
This bracelet is the first H item I got, although it's actually younger than the scarf.
A perfect match indeed, my dear Melora!

What a beautiful place, Deborah! Enjoy the blue sky! Here it's raining cats and dogs... You look wonderful!

Seton, your pink Oiseaux is beautiful, I'd love to see a picture of the full scarf. I also love Combats even if it's so gory and kind of politically incorrect, just imagine a theme like that today...

I am away from home again rite now but if u are around in 2 wks, I'll be happy to post it. I noticed that the interior colors are pretty much all the same in these original cws. I only have clouds in my 2 later versions.

about the unPC designs:
You are reminding me of a conversation I had recently about H's Yr of Africa. She was wearing something from that yr (which i remarked upon - natch!) and her viewpt was that some of those designs would not be reprinted bc of today's political clime. I disagreed, pointing out how Cavaliers Arabes/Chevaux Arabes was reprinted only a couple of yrs after 9/11. (This design shows an Arabic man carrying a gun in the center for those who are unfamiliar with it.)

Birkinmary, your scarves are so wonderful and I love seeing them. The greys and blues in Les Coqs are fantastic!

Seton, I love birds and this pattern is so endearing, especially in the traditional H colors.

Melora, gorgeous bracelet and great match with your scarf.

Vesper Sparrow, love your Les Champs, too.
