La Danse des Amazones, whether in 90 or CSGM is a perfect example of @Karenska's post about corner motifs and borders! This is a true "grab-and-go" for me and I have missed it while on hiatus from my scarves this winter. Heading out for a late afternoon hike with my dogs before a night and day of rest. I always think of @Marie-the-Mary when I post this beauty. :flowers: Happy Friday to all!

This is such a stunning design. I’m always sad I’ve never found the right cw.

Heading out to dinner in Jardin de la Maharani. Others have already posted this one for its beautiful border, but I figure the more the merrier! I think this might be my all time favorite shawl.

What a sumptuous look! Esp with your striking hair 😍

Today‘s scarf was not H but a little silk from a dear friend. In lieu I finally got Lino to model my new twilly.

You both look great! Puppy is da floofy-ist!!!

Twins and enabled by @LKBNOLA.
And I caught the last two pages where @CedarWaxWing and @Croisette7 showed your stunning red and white 90. So beautiful! Happy to be sisters. The border design is just so beautiful!
Another sad car photo, sorry, But on a happier note, a gf complimented me on how good the blue scarf looks on me and even said I am so good at knowing what colors look great on me. Absolutely made my day!

Beautiful!!! I too always adore it when folks compliment my scarves IRL. It doesn’t happen that often actually.

Good morning!!
Busy days so I have not been able to send all the individual praises for the gorgeous scarves demonstrated this week - apologies!

But oh how many beauties there are in here - both the scarves and those wearing Them! - though the borders of Sieste and Tout Les bateaux have a special place in my heart 😊

I tried to Pick out some other good borders from the pile, just unceremoniously modelled including earphones due to a saturday podcast binging streak.

Collies des chien - am I right in there being a version with cute puppies along the border? And why do I not have that?

Wish you all a very happy weekend!!!

These are all so lovely! I esp like the Musique des Dieux. I keep debating which cw of that to hunt for.

La Marche du Zambeze has a beautiful border and a lovely pop of colour for its hem. Same sweater, different scarf.

I love your color stories so much! They are always so vibrant and leap off the page. This is a most excellent knot also.

Hello Scarfies, here is my contribution. January is so busy, for the moment it's just about virtual nap with Sieste !View attachment 6122022

Just wow. This is inspired pairing with the green! Sets it off so nicely.

Thank you, dear Scarfies, for your kind comments and thank yous. It has been fun to show off our hems, borders and fringes. You all have such grace and style and I think I have a few more scarves on The Wish List now :winkiss: including finding Jungle Love Triangle which I sent back and now regret. (I have an ace up my sleeve to acquire it again ;).) I’ll leave the week with a few more borders and that crazy little zigzag hem of plisses. :hugs:

Have a beautiful Saturday and Sunday!

Thank you so much for leading us through the week! These are beauties, I esp like the colors in El en Cravat, eye-catching contrasts.

Well, I have a lot of pleasant catching up to do in just a day! A big thank you :flowers: 🧡 to @Karenska for a lovely week. Borders and hems are two of my favorite features of scarf designs so I always love to be surprised by what I don't know or haven't focused on as well as to revisit the tried and true, and the iconic ones we all love. I was going to end with striped hems but decided instead to show hems and borders on some Giant Triangles. I was inspired by @Karenska's posts of Jungle Love and Fleurs et Papillons de Tissus as well as her lovely Tulipomanie. This is a format people either love or don't but it is undeniable that the GT hem and border game is on point! (Full disclosure: I am a fan of the format and even have a new SS25 to debut soon 😃 )

Love Cheval Vague - that was a design I was expecting to love on me a lot more than I did. Yours is amazing. As usual I am inspired to copy your knots!

All of these are so spectacular I can't even find the words! I don't know how I dropped the quote on that gorgeous Cavaliers du Caucasse and your other beauties are just TDF and as always, perfectly presented and styled @Croisette7. Your CSGM collection is magnificent... I do think you would love the blue Bateaux-- a very different feeling from the stunning black. (And thank you! The blue Amazones is a delight; there was a darker one released as well and some confusion between the two but this one is light and lovely...)

Well, if I owned this I would consider myself in Blue Heaven @PoliticalGal -- you look fabulous.

OMG. If this were an entry in the "Who Wore it Better" I nominate Lino, hands down. Sorry @Jacq1-- you have some competition...

The hem against that caban or marine border really does add something special @EtsyBoss. It nicely echoes the checkerboard section, too!

You do the Edot Knot so well @mktlim! A nice way to feature borders and hems...

Thank you-- I would like to think that somehow, through TPF magic, the one aorund my neck is your former ELeK @Maedi!

The yellow and lilac side is beautiful on you @darkstar66!!!

 A scarfie friend and I walked into the boutique and it was peeking out in the drawer. We both said, "Which is that one with the border that is giving ELek vibes?" And then we both ended up buying it @Katharina Luise. A little more enablement-- it is wonderful!
View attachment 6122198

Amazing! It looks fantastic-- I could not find a 90 Fanfare to work on me and chose this one as well @Katharina Luise -- I love it!

A great braid @GloWW0rM -- love the cobalt blue sweater too. I'm inspired to pull my version out-- it is such a great all season color but especially good to brighten the dark mid-winter months.

Wowza @Coco2606 -- this looks amazing on the bright green blazer...I hope you can get some rest now that January is (almost) in the rearview mirror...

Thank you so much @Karenska-- this is a brilliant send off and I am sending wishes to your Fairy Scarfmother to guide a Jungle Love GT straight into your hands!

You keep reminding me how lovely the soft side of this 90 is @Jereni and yes, that red hem!
Cavalier en Forms is one that I think is a bit underrated. I’ve never seen a bad colorway and the design manages to be both subtle yet impactful when worn. I have the shawl version in similar colors, which I tried on a whim, but have found goes with just about everything in my closet. You’re so right on the ExLenK vibes.

That sounds exactly like how my thought process would have gone 😂 In any case, you made the right choice, it looks great on you.
Thanks, dear PoliticalGal, Jereni, Orchard and LKBNOLA

What a beautiful set of shawl acquisitions!!! Love Kawa Ora, although my eye is also drawn to Orto… I love it in that cw.

I will keep an eye out for you!!! I feel like I see it every now and then.

What a beauty!!! Love the texture that the marbling brings.

Definitely very fun!!! This is so smashing with your blond hair.

Beautiful, twin! And your husband looks very sharp also. Hope ice skating was a blast!

Congratulations!!! Eye-catching and vibrant, love it on you!

Gorgeous - I feel like others have said this about Au Coeur and I’m beginning to think I need to get a move on getting this lol! It has been on my list but just not sure which cw. Would love to see more arrangements of this on you.
I’m echo-ing what others have already shared but my Oscarf for Best Design in 2024 goes to Emile et Une Nuit. I only bought two scarves from this years seasons, and this is one of them.

View attachment 6111061

I hadn’t planned an Oscarf for De La Mer Au Ciel - in the interest of not giving an award to every scarf I bought this year, but now I’m thinking it deserved some sort of recognition based on how perfectly it matches this shirt today, lol.

View attachment 6111064
I love thèse on you, dear Jereni. Sisters on Emile scarf. I was going to get the one you have but that cw wasn’t good on me.
Very casual today with a sweatshirt and Cosmographia Universalis. If this one were to receive an award, it would probably be for “Most Fun” with its candy pink colors and fantastical design themes.

View attachment 6111227
I love that pink Cosmographia on you! Sisters 🤗🙌
I am sorry this turned out to be a counterfeit BUT it is stunning, such a pretty colourway 😍

Very cool!

Thank you so much dear @Maedi!

Ooh you have the most wonderful shawl collection @PoliticalGal! This one is very fun indeed. Love all the pink too!

Beautiful, twin! And nice husband too 😄

Thank @Helena7! I am happy we are twins on the Animapolis. You have such a wonderful collection!

Congratulations, it is just perfect. Red really suits you ❤️

You look beautiful and so does the new scarf! What a pretty design and cw 🤩
Hi, thanks dear Redheaddem 🥰
I haven’t checked previous pages and just realized I didn’t see many friendly replies.
I’m finally catching up.

26 Jan - Festive Hues: Bright Colours for the Lunar New Year, especially red

Happy New Year, scarf friends!

This year, the Lunar New Year is on Wednesday, January 29.

Before discussing the lunar new year, let's talk about the 'traditional' new year that a large portion of the world celebrates on January 1. Why January 1?

It just kind of... happened. January as a month existed since 713 BCE, but January 1 became the first day of the year in 153 BCE. Previously, the New Year started in March on the spring equinox, when new Roman consuls began their term. A political crisis in Lusitania in 153 BCE led the Romans to send a consul 2.5 months early, shifting the year's start. Julius Caesar reformed the Roman calendar in 46 BCE and formalized January 1 as the first day of the year.

When the Gregorian calendar was created, Pope Gregory XIII adjusted it for leap years and formalized the 'new' January 1 (10 days sooner than it would have been otherwise) as the start of the year.

With Western countries exploring the world and attempting colonization, January 1 became a standard New Year for many. At the same time, there are other New Years: the Jewish New Year (we are currently in year 5785), the Ethiopian New Year, the Thai New Year, the Persian New Year, the Islamic New Year, and what I understand to be multiple New Years in India, including Diwali.

But we are here to celebrate the Lunar New Year!

In the U.S. and many countries, it is commonly known as the Chinese New Year, but that is not correct, as many other Asian countries celebrate it: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, and the Philippines. It is also celebrated in several countries with significant Chinese populations, such as Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Japan. And, of course, in many other countries like the U.S., there are major diaspora celebrations as well.

The Lunar New Year began as a way to acknowledge the end of the winter and the start of spring. In fact, in Chinese, the holiday is called 春节, the spring festival, although that is more a Chinese Communist name. In Taiwan, they call it 农历新年, the farming/agricultural new year (although that would be written in traditional Chinese, which I can't do).

There are many explanations for the origins of the holiday and the traditions surrounding it. The most common one is that there was a beast called Nian that would attack villages at the start of each year. Nian could be driven away by lights, noises, and the color red, which has led to traditions such as wearing red clothes, using red decorations, and using firecrackers.

So, to start the week, we are going to drive away all the beasts with red and gold, a classic Lunar New Year pairing (red for luck and prosperity and gold for wealth).

Here we have:

Moving from last week’s celebration of beautiful edges to this week’s vibrant Lunar New Year theme, I’m honoring both with L’Ivresse de l’Infini. Its rich red tones, intricate design, busy border, and contrasting hem are a fun way to bring both themes together. Huge thanks to Karenska for hosting last week’s theme and to Anna for this week’s celebration!

You’re all so sweet! ☺️ Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it! :flowers:

Stunning.

Oh we are twins on this! I love this worn with a darker red, must try this myself.

I am so sorry to hear about the pup. Hope all health troubles are swiftly and successfully resolved!

Gosh I just love the muted pink in this.

Sooooo pretty.

I love how you are matching the colors and the patterns here.

Such a great design. I always associate Appaloosa with you Red. Your passion for the design always comes thru. And it’s perfect on the blue top.

You make it so hard to resist these cute cashmere gavs. You style them perfectly! This cw is the best of the bunch

Ooooooo I love a changeant! :hbeat: . Gorgeous color

Oh I love how you styled it to show so much of the design. Will have try it for sure myself. Happy to be twins with you. This design is so gorgeous with the detail, patterns and then the flower corner 💘 . I’m not gonna lie…I am staulking @Jereni ’s cw too  .

Oh I’ve been meaning to go to that exhibit before it leaves, and my membership expires on the 30th. And I am to the moon we are twins on this! It is wonderful on you.

What a great tie to show off that green and hem. I love how the colors swirl and finish to the frills of the tie. And those are for sure my favorite part of the design as well.

Thank you @bunnycat, @GloWW0rM, @violetkool and @redheaddem! Sometimes a cashmere gav is just the right amount of neckwear!

This is gorgeous @shrpthorn -- I would love to find this design in the moussie format. Congratulations!

How nice to honor the artists' tools with this scarf for the theme @SilkCouture! Are you twins with @Nomad?

Wow. The perfect association between a work of art and a scarf design. This is really wonderful on you @Teaforparrots!

Those origami animals are adorable @mktlim! Pretty cw of this design, too. I like it on your pretty top!

Congratulation, SilkCouture! Très chic on you!

That indigo blue is so spectacular @Redbirdhermes!

I can totally see why you have both @GloWW0rM. They are both stunning and so different!

So cute!

Beautiful @HermesEchidna !

I think so, I love those soft pink tones on you @darkstar66

This is beautiful @LKBNOLA . This type of green really suits you and your beautiful hair. I am into bandana myself recently, albeit the small format.

Gosh, these colours are so pretty! What a good sale find!

Oh it is beautiful @violetkool. I love the purple and Bordeaux combo!

Wow! The monochromatic tones of the scarf are so effortlessly chic and complement your features perfectly. It frames your face beautifully and gives off such an elegant vibe. Stunning!

My most worn scarf of this winter is this little CS from the men‘s collection. Parade en Fanfare. It is perfect with all the grey, black and olive I tend to wear in the colder months. It has a very subtle contrast hem in pale grey.
